Can I buy an extender for the 10 ft speaker cable or a longer speaker cable?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend these be placed >10' apart. For good stereo imaging, the separation and listening distance should comprise an equilateral triangle (or stretched one). Say speakers 8' apart so the cable isn't stretched! Then listen from 8' or maybe up to 15' away. If this doesn't give you enough volume you need more powerful amp/speaker system. Nearfield listening (say with 6' between speakers and listening from 6' away) can give you a sublime stereo listening experience.
