Pros, Cons, and why I give it five stars.
Pros: I really like the "smart" aspect of this scale. I bought this one because it was one of the few that connected with MyFitnessPal which is my main weight loss app I'm using. They do have the ability to request different app intergrations, so that shows they are willing to update issues. My old analog scale was no longer reliable so this one is great. The app records you weight when you step on so it helps to keep you honest. When you step on the app shows the percentage of your goal you've met, your weight, the difference that is over the week, over the month, and over all, and your streak for weighing daily. It also sends this information to the apps you have synced it with so now more manual entry. You are able to erase a weigh in if you need to. You could also use this without the app as just a regular scale if you needed to. Cons: I assumed since there were metal plates on it that it measured BMI through bioelectronic whatnot, but after using without being barfoot I realized the metal is just a design aspect and that it measures BMI based off weight and height, like most apps. You have to have the app open when you step on to record the weight. It also takes a second to actually send the weight to your phone so sometimes you are standing there waiting on it, or you have to step off and on again. It also is hard to have multiple users of the app on one scale. If you are weighing yourself and someone else connected to your scale happens to have their app open it'll record your weight to their profile. They could just delete it if this happens, so it's not that bad. Ultimately I've given it five stars because it does what I needed it to, and it does what it said it would do, and I am very happy with it. Any expectation it didn't meet was not something I personally cared for. It is a quality scale that accurately records my weight, calculates additional metrics, and shares it with my apps. It helps me follow my goal and is easy to use.

A scale that even giants would love.
I was slightly worried purchasing this scale -- some reviews were great, others complained of difficult to set up wifi connections. This was also my first attempt at a digital scale after leaving the world of crappy electronic scales for a good five years or more. We actually purchased a mechanical beam scale like those found in gyms or doctor's offices. Well, we moved houses and the beast of a scale wouldn't fit in the new place. So the search began... I was very worried about getting an electronic scale that had one of two common issues: the ability to make it say pretty much whatever you want by standing just so, and the scale that just gives you the previous reading unless there's been a significant change, both drive me nuts. I am pleased to say that I have found this scale easy to setup, very accurate, and responds to small weight changes. As a bonus I no longer have to manually input my weight into my phone each day, which is nicer than I expected. I am connecting to an Apple AirPort Extreme router if anyone is wondering. It automatically found the band that it needed to connect to. It took my three attempts to get through the process, not that it was difficult to work with, it was more me learning how to do it. It's pretty simple, but I can screw even simple things up. I've had it for a week now, and every day it has sent my weight to my app, so I'm a happy camper. My router is located in the basement and my master bathroom is located on the second floor, probably a worst case scenario... it connects just fine. The scale is much larger than other similar scales I've encountered in stores, which is a benefit to me, there's not much worse than trying to get big feet in a small scale... all of the extra data I ignore, it cycles through your water weight and bone mass, blah, blah, blah, but I'm not especially interested in that.

Very nice household grade bathroom scale
This scale is very nicely styled as you can see from photos, slim, easy to set up and use, easy to clean. No problem at all pairing it with my android phone (and I don't use bluetooth much, so a beginner should have no problem). Even comes with batteries, so just pull the tab and you're in business. I had a minor problem with one, and customer service was first rate. I gave it only 4 because its accuracy is exactly what it's supposed to be: household grade. There's a difference between precision and accuracy, even though many people use the words interchangeably. If you're weighing something that's exactly 100 pounds, and you say it's 90.345 pounds, you have been very precise (5 digits)... but not terribly accurate. If you say it's 100 pounds, you're accurate, but not very precise at only 3 digits of precision. Make sense? Well now that we have digital displays vs the old moving needle designs, we can easily display more precision than we should. Consider that when this scale weighs a person over 100 pounds, and shows a 0.1 least significant digit, it's displaying 4 digits of precision. No household scale I've ever heard of has much more than maybe 2.5 digits of real accuracy, however many digits get displayed. This one can vary 3 pounds plus or minus as I shift my weight, which works out to a smidge better than 1%, even as I try hard to stand still, which may be a bit disappointing until you think about how many digits are being displayed. Then the scale watches the range as the display wobbles up and down for a few seconds, and chooses a middle reading to freeze and display. I expect the true accuracy is about +/- 1-2 pounds, which is actually quite good for a household unit. So its true performance is about the same as the best spring and needle type scales of yesteryear, but packaged in nice modern enclosure with electronic innards and display. So if you need extreme accuracy, you'll need to use one of those slide-the-weight balance beam scales. If you want an attractive, easy to use, compact and generally very nice household scale (and understand that household units in this price range are not laboratory equipment), you'll love this scale.

Wifi does work! Great Product!
So far so good. Just received the scale tonight, but I wanted to comment based on some of the negative reviews about the network configuration setup and the self proclaimed network administrators who couldn't set it up. I have managed networks in the past, but not for many years. But I am the kind of tech geek who has 2 separate WiFi routers in the home, one for kids and one for parents. And they are both heavily customized. It took about 15 mins to configure the scale, including integrating with my Fitbit account. The integration was near real-time even though the Weight Guru app said it could take a couple hours the first time. It was synchronized before my watch did with the fitbit app on my phone. The setup: you have to download the app, I used Google Play on my Galaxy S7 edge. Then you press a button on the back of the scale and it enters into setup mode. Then follow phone app instructions, including choosing your home network and password (entered my WiFi pw incorrectly first time, shame on me), then in the phone app selecting a graphic displayed on the scale, which will ultimately lead you to opening the WiFi settings on your mobile device, then selecting the WiFi network of the "scale". It goes through what I suspect is an authentication process from scale, through the phone and connects to your WiFi. Then in the Phone app, you select an integration which was as advertised. The app itself could be improved, the back button closes the app, but once you get the hang of it, works fine. Also displays Wt, BMI, water, bone density and Body Fat all as advertised. In testing, only displays weight unless you connect through the app. All in all very pleased for first night, much cheaper than fitbit scale. Will post an update I experience any issues.

Great addition to my health routine
This is a very nice scale, although it does not flatter me by telling me I weigh less than I actually do, it does its job well and gives you a lot of information in the process. This is done through the same screen that displays your weight. Set up a simple if you follow the directions. It comes with directions but they also feature a link that takes you to a very comprehensive, one of the best I’ve seen, set of instructions to get you started and a FAQ to answer all the questions you might have about set up and operation. While it’s not a connected device, it gives you a lot of information which is displayed on the screen after it displays your weight They offer a five-year warranty, while I did not have to contact customer service, I’m assuming that if it’s as good as everything else I’ve encountered with the scale it should be excellent. As you can see from the pictures it’s good looking with a solid feel and will complement just about any bathroom and can be moved about if need be, because it’s self-calibrating. I’d have to say it’s accurate because I’ve compared it to another scale that was known to be accurate and it’s right on the money.

Very Happy with this Scale!
As I've been trying to lose and track my weight, I've tried a few different scales lately. This one is my favorite so far. Long story short, it's accurate (at least it's the same as other scales I've always considered accurate), looks good, and provides enough information without bombarding me with stuff I'll never use. The readout is clear and bright, and set-up was easy (as it should be). I have a blood pressure monitor from GreaterGoods that I love and it has the ability to automatically record my readings straight to the phone app. I'd love it if this scale did the same, but for this price I didn't expect it and I won't consider it a con. It's easy enough to record the measurements myself in the app. A similar scale struggled to maintain accurate results on our "just slightly" textured tile, which made it frustrating to use. I was glad to see that this one didn't have that same issue for us. It has "just worked" each time I step on in the morning. I mentioned my other GreaterGoods product; I actually have a few now. As I said, I'm trying to get my health in order and after one good experience with the blood pressure monitor, I picked up a portable one, too. I like supporting these folks as they are charitable themselves and I appreciate that. Anyways, these are definitely worth a try, especially at the price. Good luck!

Corroded battery terminals.
Scale came and would not turn on. The battery terminal was corroded. I contacted the company who sent another one which was also corroded. 😔

Easy to Set Up
Purchased this product as a tool to help me measure my weight loss progress. One of the most important features for me was the body fat % measurement as well as the water %. I want to make sure I'm drinking adequate amounts of water. I wanted to get something affordable and reliable. EASE of set up: [Activate batteries first by removing the plastic pull tab from the back of scale] 1. Wake up the scale by briefly stepping on-off with one foot. 2. Press+hold SET button. 3. Use UP/DOWN buttons to set your user number [U1-U8]. 4. Sex/Athlete Mode - Choose Athlete [the gender icon with an A next to it], IF you're exercising ~12 hours per week AND your resting HR is ~60 BPM or less. [Side note: I mistakenly set myself up in Athlete mode because I didn't look at the icon clearly the first time, which made me think I was not as fat as I thought LOL; Do not make this same mistake; I am definitely needing to lose much more fat than I had previously thought. ;-) ]. 5. Then you set up your height and age. I plan on updating the age on every birthday to keep the numbers as accurate as possible. After setting up your profile, you step on [with clean, DRY feet]. The scale will now know that you are U#. Thereafter, you just step on-off to wake up the scale -- it will greet you with "HI" -- then you will either see 0.0 lb (or kg) or "Step On" -- make sure you're standing evenly on the scale (no WET feet unless you want to have a bad accident in the bathroom) -- your weight will flash 2x, then "U#", then the scale will silently make its calculations (you will see a flashing "o" move across display if you look down (this takes about 5 seconds, give or take), then the scale will give you your stats. You can then step off at this point when you see "U#" and it will flash your data in this order: Weight, BMI, BF%, muscle mass % (depicted by a weight-lifting bar), bone mass %, and water weight %. When you see "U#", you can step off the scale and record your data with pen+paper or your favorite app. Your data will flash 3x in that previously mentioned order to give you ample time to record your data. The scale itself appears solidly made. It is thin with non-slip rubber type material on the bottom to keep it firmly to the floor. The display is bright with large characters, which is helpful. I like that it only takes 3 batteries, which is less than previous similar type scales that I had prior. There was no paper manual included; however, it was provided via a link on the bottom of the scale, which I found helpful. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for an affordable body fat composition scale that is easy to set up and use.
