Amazing phone for the price.
This a great phone. I love the matte screen and the nxtpaper mode is really cool. It also performes very well for a cheaper phone. I was able to install Genshin Impact and play it, the graphics are limited though. It's impressive at gaming performance at this price. The screen in my favorite part though because I am weird and hate shiny displays. There is almost zero reflection in the screen even with a light right behind me.

TCL has excellent phones!!!!
This is a great phone for any price. I have been using it for 2 months with no issues. No lag in games or apps, nice screen great pictures. I have dropped it many times, no problems. But always use a screen protector and case. I would definitely recommend this phone.

Esim, paper mode, microsd, earphone but no wireless charging
This seems to be the new TCL "flagship" phone. It has some nice features such as paper mode with 26 days standby, esim, supporting memory card, 3.5 mm earphone, etc. On the other hand it doesn't have wireless charging so that it's not supporting magsafe. It's made in Indonesia versus made in China and the antutu score is about the 405k. Video shooting in 720p is lousy and the sound effect of the sample is hollow and unreal. I need to further test on 1080p to see if it's acceptable. I know for a $200 range budget phone I cannot expect it to perform as good as Samsung s25 ultra. Overall a new budget phone that's worth trying.

Recommended for anyone with photosensitivity
The screen is pretty, the mode switches are smooth and the image is very easy on the eyes. I'm a big fan of the NXTPAPER/NXTVISION stuff because of vision issues and seizures. It's very easy on the eyes to read e-books on this. It's got plenty of memory and runs smoothly for my needs. The camera pictures are pretty and the camera is highly functional. I got a wallet style case to protect the screen and make it last as long as possible. I activated it on Verizon with simple sim swap (no visit to the store) and transferring the necessary stuff via wi-fi. ------------------------ REVIEW UPDATES I originally complained about extremely poor sound quality over Bluetooth/Using Earbuds : After thoroughly troubleshooting the issue I found the root cause to be related to a Dolby DTS setting called 3D Boom Sound. You can toggle this off in the settings menu and restore sound quality : Settings > Sound and Vibration > 3D Boom Sound > Toggle OFF Screen durability concerns : This device has a frosted glass screen to reduce glare and eye strain. The best way to preserve the screen's life is to use a wallet style case that completely covers the screen while it is riding in your pocket or purse. If you scrub the screen against debris / objects enough it's going to wear out. If the frosted glass wears off putting on an aftermarket screen protector is the best way to restore visibility at the cost of increased glare. Difficult gestures : This phone has a steep learning curve when it comes to learning which gestures produce specific actions like pulling up the multi-tasking screen / gemini AI app / notifications menu vs settings etc. It took me a couple of weeks and some trial and error and practice to get better at this stuff. Notifications : I am still having trouble getting quick notifications from my security camera app. The notifications of motion detection only pop up after opening the app. If I figure this issue out I'll post another review update.

Great screen; disappointing overall performance
There are many good things to say about this phone and a few criticisms as well. As for the strengths: The screen is excellent. The screen is not the brightest or the highest resolution screen out there, but it is very well designed for its intended consumer. That is, the screen is much easier on the eyes than any typical smartphone screen. The matte finish of the screen reduces reflections to almost zero and that makes a very positive impact on usability. I definitely experienced less eye strain with this phone compared to any other phone I have used in the past (that includes iPhones, and Android phones from Samsung and Motorola). As for the negatives: I became very frustrated, very quickly, with the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the on/off button. That itself is fine. However the sensor itself was highly problematic. It typically took 2 or three tries for the sensor to recognize my fingerprint. This was after deleting and adding my index finger and thumb several times. There were several times when I was attempting to use Google Pay at a POS terminal at a store and became flustered and frustrated because I couldn't authenticate with my fingerprint. The camera is another liability. While the specs of the camera are not in and of themselves problematic, the photo quality was. This was not an issue with the number of megapixels but rather with the quality of the sensor itself. Photos were not crisp but often blurry in typical indoor lighting conditions. It took reasonable (but not acceptable) photos outdoors in bright lighting conditions but that's it. All indoor photos struggled to maintain a reasonable level of focus and brightness. The issue was of course even worse in low-light conditions where the camera could not take even 'keepable' photos due to low light/grainyness, etc. In sum, although there were several strong point for the phone - in particular the screen, I had to return it because at the end of the day the fingerprint sensor and the camera were significantly worse than other phones that are equally priced.

Amazing Display
Great little phone. I love the display. Very easy on the eyes. The color mides are amazing. The processor is more than snappy for my needs. The phone has a nice size and light weight. The expandable memory plus headphone jack in 2025 seals the deal! The only 2 small gripes; the camera is just OK and the display could be a bit brighter. The auto brightness is wonky. I had to download a separate screen brightness slider app so I could make easy brightness adjustments. EDIT: TCL has been great about updates. The update I received on 12/30 resolved the brightness issue. I really like this phone.

Reliable unlocked 5G phone. Very fast and impressive compared to older TCL model I used to own.
I upgraded to this from their older model TCL 20 SE 64GB RAM + 128GB ROM purchased back in 2021. So far I only see pros with the smart phone after owning it for over 1 week. Display is very clear and I can go from one app to another very fast and rarely any lag. Camera and video quality is very good. The phone is great value for anyone that dislike paying a lot of money for unlocked phones from major manufacturers. I currently use Google Fi 5G and it works great with the phone. I used the E-SIM to setup with Google Fi services.

Good budget Phone! Get's the job done at a 1/4 of the cost of other phones.
I am enjoying my new phone. I had the TCL 10L, this TCL 60XE NXTPAPER 5G definitely feels like an upgrade. A few things that I wish were better... The phone ring volume isn't very loud. There is distortion when on a call, both on the earpiece & on speaker phone. The camera is OK. Low light is not good at all for a good picture, mainly when taking a "selfie", from my experience. I wish it would charge faster than it does, however it isn't horrible. I didn't think I would like the fingerprint scan button, but I'm finding that I like it better than the 10L. I like the size of the phone. I like that it has a 256GB storage size. (on the model I have) The speaker volume for playing videos is plenty loud. Over all, I would recommend this phone. For the price, it does everything I need it to do + some. I've added 3 photos, with good lighting, less lighting & even less lighting.... Enjoy LOL! :D I would give it 5 stars, but for the distorted audio while on phone calls.
