I have used both the WIX 51334 and the PurolatorONE PL14459 for nearly 15 years on my 24-year-old 2003 Acura CL Type-S (bought new in April 2002). I have never had any leaks or fit problems, however, it is a very low mileage vehicle (37k miles) so I can't testify to its effectiveness on a high mileage vehicle. I just bought both filters new from Amazon and other than the light blue color of the Purolator and black color of the WIX the filters are almost identical in every way. The height and diameter dimensions are identical, they both have a black gasket, six drain holes, plastic wrap seals covering the open end and are both manufactured in South Korea. Since both brands are owned by German company Mann+Hummel that is not surprising. The Purolator has changed over the years going from a sure grip pebbled texture and tan color to a speckled blue color and now a plain light blue color. I would be surprised if there's much difference in their filtering capabilities. I use them interchangeably and usually just buy whichever one is cheaper. I have confidence that both brands will filter the oil effectively.

As usual my Wix filter was a quality product, fit my vehicle and works well. I use Wix filters on all my vehicles, never had an issue.

I contacted this company in error thinking the WIX filter I put on my engine (and subsequently blew off) came from them. They were courteous and helpful as they tried to address the fallout. When I figured out that a local marine supply store sold me the bad filters, I called to apologize and let them know no further assistance was needed and they were EXTREMELY gracious. I appreciate any company that provides customer service.

I bought this for a car that takes a Fram 9688. Amazon says it fits the vehicle so I ordered it. Got under the car, and this filter is shorter and larger diameter. So I start a refund. I check Wix offical site and it says this filter should fit. I went forward with the oil change. This filter has the O Ring in the right spot, the can is just a larger diameter.
