how well do they hold up during sharpening?

Let me start off by saying. I really like these pencils. I use a very sharp pencil sharpener, and they sharpen very nicely.

How different are these from the other pastels?

I find them to be softer then the average pastel pencil. I as surprised to see how well they work . I would definitely recommend them .

I have been very pleased with my Derwent pencils. The hold up well when sharpening. I have not had trouble with broken lead after sharpening. Love my Derwent pencils.

what is the light fast rating on these pastel skin tines pencils?

Here are the lightfast ratings for this set of pencils. The number in parentheses next to each color. P010(3) P030(7) P130(5) P160(5) P290(3) P380(8) P580(8) P590(8) P610(8) P640(8) P710(8) We classify everything above BW 5 as lightfast, so only 2 of this set are not particularly lightfast.
