Great Starter Lock Box/Safe
This lockbox, while not quite a full-fledged safe, is a fantastic entry-level security solution that serves a specific niche, and here's why it deserves a closer look: First and foremost, its lightweight design makes it exceptionally easy to handle and move, a feature that's particularly advantageous for those who prioritize portability. Its small form factor is ideal for stowing away precious, smaller items such as money and jewelry, providing a dedicated and secure space for these valuables. However, it's worth noting that its lightweight nature also implies that it should ideally be discreetly hidden from plain view to deter potential intruders. This precaution ensures that its very nature doesn't invite unwanted attention due to its manageable size and weight. In my own security journey, I eventually opted for a larger and heavier safe for my more substantial valuables. Nonetheless, I continue to find utility in this lockbox for organizing and safeguarding other important items. Its compactness and simplicity make it a versatile addition to my security strategy. In summary, this lockbox is a solid choice for those looking for a starting point in securing their valuables. Its lightweight build, small form factor, and usability for smaller items like money and jewelry make it a practical option. While it may not be suitable for all security needs, it serves as a valuable component within a broader security setup, providing peace of mind for your most cherished possessions.

You may need different anchor bolts than what come with the safe.
This is a nice product; the operator's manual had clear instructions, and the safe is easy to operate. HOWEVER, there is one thing you need to be aware of, if you plan to permanently anchor the safe to a floor or wall. The anchoring bolts that are provided will only work if the hole that you drill in which to place the bolts has a "bottom." The bolts are designed to be inserted into a 2-inch deep hole, and then expanded in order to grip the hole. There is a little "nut" at the bottom of the anchor; when you remove the bolt from the anchor, in order to then insert it through the hole in the safe, the little "nut" is then loose from the bolt. That's no problem if the hole has a bottom to it; the nut remains in place, and then when the bolt is inserted through the safe and back into the anchor, the nut will expand as the bolt is tightened. BUT - in my case, I was mounting the safe into a plywood cabinet, and the bottom plywood of the cabinet was only 1/2-inch thick, and there was empty space below the plywood. Had I inserted the anchor, and then removed the bolt, the little nut would have dropped off and disappeared. I solved the problem by purchasing 4 "butterfly" anchors at my hardware store. These were inserted through the hole in the bottom of the safe, and then through the hole in the plywood. The butterfly "wings" expanded, and the anchors could then be tightened down. Think about how you will anchor the safe (if you plan to do so) and what surface you will be drilling into, or through, in order to place the anchors. Hope this helps you.

Works well
We bought this safe six years ago, and honestly, it deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award. Our two toddler boys treat the keypad like it's their personal DJ mixer. They press buttons, slap it, and try their best to launch it into space — yet somehow, it still works perfectly every time we need to get in. If this safe can survive my kids, it can survive anything.

Solid Budget-Friendly Safe – Easy Setup and Good for Everyday Valuables
I picked up the Amazon Basics electronic safe, and it’s a good, straightforward option for home use. The steel body feels sturdy enough for securing documents, cash, and small valuables. At this size, it’s compact enough to tuck in a closet or cabinet but still roomy enough inside for essentials. The programmable keypad is simple to set up, and it responds quickly. It also comes with backup keys, which is reassuring if you ever forget the code or the batteries run out. The interior isn’t fancy, but it does the job, and the mounting hardware makes it easy to bolt down for extra security. Pros: Sturdy steel construction with a decent amount of space Easy-to-use programmable keypad with backup keys Compact design, easy to fit in closets or cabinets Can be mounted for extra security Cons: Not fireproof or waterproof—best for basic security, not disaster protection Keypad beeps loudly when pressing buttons (not discreet) Overall, this is a solid, affordable safe for everyday home use. Great for keeping important items secure and out of sight without spending a fortune.

Best safe at the best price.
Ignore the people who wrote bad reviews about this safe. First of all I purchased the 1.8 cubic feet safe. Now, let me give you an honest real review. Every safe, especially of this small of a size, WILL NOT BE PERFECT. Check the reviews to every single safe you find on Amazon, or elsewhere, and there will be quite a few of reviews “safe broken into” “safe can be opened using blank” etc. there is no perfect safe. Safes are used to store important documents, firearms, or whatever else. There is no safe that is absolutely inaccessible to random people. Burglars are not showing up to your house with tools to break into your safe, they are looking for an easy way to get into the safe easily. All safes are NOT perfect. This safe is built well, looks good, good size, you can set any code from 4-8 digits, set up is really easy, and programming it is easy. It does the job, it locks, it doesn’t open easily, it has quite a lot of space, and no complaints. The locking system DOES NOT, unlock randomly, it has stayed lock, and I tried very basically to just get it to unlock, and it has not malfunctioned. It’s a good starter safe for simple storage. There is no fingerprint reader, but has backup keys, and to program the pin is easy.
