Hard to find hardcover wine book
This is an excellent book and used as a reference in many restaurants by many wine connoisseurs and wine stewards all over the United States. If you can get a copy, buy it it may be a few years out of date with the latest vintage years, but the wisdom it in parts asked to grapes and various types of wine and wine growing regions is priceless!

Truly an encyclopedia!
A wonderful gift for the wine lover in your family, this book starts with the "history" of wine and is divided into geographical regions around the world. There are many illustrations and photographs detailing the winemaking process, grapes, various regions and wine labels, and much more. I bought the book to put on my coffee table (it's that heavy and thick!), but have spent much time reading through it and can say that one will learn a great deal about wine. The writing may be a bit dry, but overall, this is an excellent work on wine.

Best reference in wine
This book is the ultimate, in wine appellation references. It covers law and grape varietals very well. The only place it lacks is any reference to the grapes grown for spirits. If you have only two books with which to study for the sommelier exam, this should be one. (the other is: Sales and Service for the Wine Profesional. by Brian Julyan)

Quick Delivery & Good Condition
Condition as advertised and good. Book has lots of useful information on wine - some content is a little dated given that its a few years old now but the core of the content is very helpful for those in the wine business of studying.

The most general unbiased worldwide wine guide available
This is without a doubt the best worldwide review of wines available. It is unbiased but not bland and opinionated, in the most rigorously fair way. For the uninitiated it covers the very basics of wine production and can be read as a book and for the expert it is a vital reference.A brief period of over-pricing is behind it and it should be considered the standard reference. The only request that I would have is that the green pages of the first and second editions (where the author gave his personal recommendations in each wine region) be reintroduced: they added colour and were greatly appreciated by those who shared the tastes of the author.

A wine lovers bible
This is a big thick book packed with brilliant useful information. My husband is a wine lover and he loves this book. He keeps disappearing off to read it. I am not such a wine buff but i am also finding it useful and easy to read and understand. Great book
