A surprising quality of life improvement
I hesitated at full price, but when the BenQ ScreenBar Halo dropped to £125, it felt worth a try. After a few weeks of use, I’m glad I picked it up. Fit was my first concern. I’m using it on a Samsung Odyssey G9, and it clamps securely without putting pressure on the screen or interfering with the curve. Setup took minutes. The lighting itself is excellent. It does a great job of evenly lighting the desk without glare on the screen. The control wheel is intuitive, letting you quickly adjust brightness and colour temperature from cool white to warm white, with plenty of range at both ends. Small changes are easy to dial in, which makes a difference during long work sessions. One feature I didn’t expect to care about, but now really like, is the motion sensor. Walking up to the desk and having the light turn on feels oddly satisfying and genuinely useful. You can also control the rear ambient light and the downward desk light independently, so you can run either one on its own or both together depending on the mood or time of day. Overall, the BenQ ScreenBar Halo brought a noticeable quality-of-life improvement to my setup. It’s not cheap, but if you spend a lot of time at your desk and can grab it on a deal, it feels like money well spent.

Superb, well made, love it
Love it. I work from home in my basement, so there is no natural light. The overhead lights are too bright and I can look quite ghastly on video calls (or more ghastly!) with them on. This light is remarkably bright and easily illuminates my whole desk. The backlight is an exceptional idea, removing any contrast in light and making it easier for my eyes. Everything is well made and solid, even the remote control that sits on the desk. Not sure I could do without this light now ... it's well worth the price if you regularly spend time on the computer.

BenQ Halo 2 is perfect
Excellent bit of kit. Pricey, yes, but fits my 32” screen perfectly. Love the automatic on / off sensor. Has plenty of customisation too, with the backlight, brightness and different temperature of lighting. The puck helps you control this with ease. Definitely recommend.

Well worth the money
I work from home full time and this has been brilliant - much better than my previous monitor light bar. It's easy to install, is solid as a rock and it really helps my eyes when it gets darker. I love the rear light and the remote puck is excellent too.

A great screen bar (just not for cats)
I'd been thinking about buying a screen bar for a while and finally went for it when this one was reduced during the Black Friday sales. I work from home during the day and do a lot of photo/video editing during the evening, so spend a lot of hours staring at my screen. My eyes are often tired after so many hours sat at my desk and this has made a big difference to reduce eye strain, especially when using my computer in the evening. Unsurprisingly, it fits my BenQ screen perfectly although I'm sure it will fit most other screens just as well as the mounting foot is adjustable. Quality is very good and it was easy to set up - plugging in to a USB-C port to power it. The wireless puck is easy to use and hasn't required recharging yet even after a couple of months of use. I was slightly worried that I'd be distracted by the glow from the light or reflections, however that really isn't a problem. I went for the Halo 2 over the cheaper version as it has a proximity sensor to switch on when I sit at my desk as well as a rear light to illuminate the wall behind the monitor. So far though I haven't used either. I prefer it without the rear light (although this is just personal preference), but it's nice to have the option of both if I need it - it's easy to select front only, rear only or both with a touch of a button on the puck. The proximity sensor is great - until your cat walks in front of it at 3am and wakes you up as the light switches on. So I quickly disabled that.

My favourite desk accessory, but not video call friendly
I've always struggled to find a decent light for my computer desk, and this light bar turns out to be exactly what I've been looking for all along! It's probably better for flat monitors, but I managed to get it working on my 57" curve monitor with a bit of white tack. There's a tiny bit of light bouncing off the bottom bezel in my config (more on that later) but all in all I'm quite happy to have bought it! The range of temperature and brightness is great, I have my desk against the window so ofter have the blinds shut and this provides a good amount of light that I need to keep my eyes comfortable. I don't tend to adjust the settings too much and just let auto brightness do its thing for me. The only thing I could thing of to improve things, is the ability to control the depth of the area that the light illuminates. I go on video calls often and I have to adjust the light to stop it from hitting my chest, which shows up on the calls - and this leads to the aforementioned problem of light bouncing off the bottom bezel as it gets hit. An ability to control the actual depth, rather than just adjusting the angle, would solve that for me. The remote puck is ok. It feels premium but it takes a tap to wake and another to change settings, and if you don't hit it right the first tap (direct contact with a control where the capacitive sensors exist), it can feel frustrating to use. I just put it on presence detection mode and not touch it most days as a result. Finally the back light, whilst more powerful than previous generations, doesn't really do much for me in my set up, as my monitor isn't sitting that close to the wall. I get a bit of ambient light from it, but not enough to make a real difference. So be warn if you're like me and have the monitor lifted forward away from the wall. All in all it's still a nice light to have. I love being able to paint my nails now without angling towards my lamp, and I'll no doubt enjoy it when I start crafting at my desk in the near future!

Game Changer - Check The Video
Fantastic light bar, and well worth the money. Yes there's cheaper ones out there, but the quality, ease of installation, and the light this produces is fantastic. There's a remote to manually adjust the brightness and warmth, you can set a favourite light setting, turn on 'auto-detect' which detects when you sit in front of it and automatically turns on, and even an option to choose which light you want on, whether it be the down light, back light or both. I've done a video to let you see the product and hopefully you can make your decision if in doubt! Please note that I did NOT receive this for free and purchased this at full price, and I am not affiliated with BenQ in any way. This is my honest review to let you know my opinion for the bar.

Perfect light with adjustability for a price
Had a cheaper alternative that lasted three weeks before it would hold position as it was half the cost I thought I would just buy this one. It’s very expensive and if the other hand failed i wouldn’t consider this, that said I found the light to be clearer, it’s just easier on the eye compare to the other even at same temperatures. It can go very bright too, I don’t need that much much and find I have it around 10% or less in the evening. The back light is actually really useful too, didn’t think I would use it but I prefer both on low. The angle on the desk is also great with clean cut off. I use is on one of my two 28 inch flat monitors and it offers enough light for both, it’s placed on one and both are landscape. Conclusion: it’s a great light and fits what I need but it’s so expensive for what it is, I hope it lasts
