These things are great threw them in the washing machine clean them up real good using them for my above ground pond and they work great

I’m not sure I like it. I’m continuously using it for now, but it appears that it’s not getting my full water clean as the sand filter normally does.

These balls? These are amazing balls. I never had balls before and did not know exactly how much I was missing. These balls keep my pool clean and sparkling. They come in such a nice quantity which is reassuring. If my balls deteriorate I can pop some new balls in no problem and keep my ball quota on par. If you are still using cartridge filters get some balls instead.

I don't see a reason to use sand when you can use these filters. They work great and for the same cost of sand, it's definitely worth it! Just throw them in and your done. I do wish they came with a bag for easy cleaning though

Doesn’t work. Picture on left is with the filter balls running for a week straight. Chemicals balanced. More shock than needed. Picture on right is THREE hours after replacing the filter balls with glass media. No chemicals added. No shocking. Nothing. Do not waste your money on these. Ask any pool group, no one recommends these

These are amazing. We just replaced our very old sand filter and decided to try these instead of sand. Had never heard of them before but are very pleased so far. Much easier to deal with than sand. The pool is always crystal clear! We gave only had them a few months so we will see how well they last. You’re supposed to be able to wash them and reuse them. We will see!

Particle problems? Fr: Aquastrong: Why are there particles in your pool? There are a few possible causes: Initial filter ball residue: New filter balls can contain fine fibers or dust. If the filter was not backwashed and rinsed before first use, some of these particles may have entered your pool. Insufficient backwash: While the manual mentions a long maintenance cycle (up to 90 days), backwashing earlier is often necessary, especially when the pressure gauge shows elevated readings. High pressure: Your pressure gauge being near red suggests the filter media is clogged, which can reduce effectiveness and push particles back into the pool. Also I washed them twice and once on hot; both times with Tide. Low heat. However from Aquastrong: Clean the filter balls (if needed): Remove them and place them in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Use a gentle wash cycle in cold water (do not use detergent or hot water). Air dry only — do not use a dryer, as heat may damage them. So basically I suggest a cold water wash and air dry setting on the dryer BEFORE you use these filter balls.

Balls work great but not easy to clean, these are cheaper than sand but need to be cleaned, not sure they will be good for second season
