Very good door, not perfect, glad I bought it
I knew going in that this might be a tight fit for my back door and I was right. My door was just slightly smaller than the minimum height recommended. The track on my door was about 1/8-1/4 inch too high so I had to get my angle grinder and cut off about 1/4 inch from the top piece. Easy enough. After that it fit perfect. If your door is within spec this should be pretty much plug and play for you. Some small issues I experienced:1. the bolts that hold the 2 pieces together aren't flat so they create a small gap when you put the weather stripping over them. Would have been better to use counter sink bolts.2. I bought the medium size door and it works great for my cats and terrier, but not my chihuahua. The bottom of the door is about 4-6 inches off the ground and he's just too short to get over it. Something to keep in mind if you have a short dog. I'm going to use something for steps or maybe put some kind of ramp there for him.3. My door is severely out of square so there was a pretty big gap between the weather strip and my door. I had to use a dremel and sand off quite a bit of weather strip near the top and down towards the middle to get it flush w/ the door. I was hoping to be able to find some weather strip that wasn't so dense and would compress easily but didn't have any luck at walmart or lowes. Wasn't too bad but there was quite a bit of cleanup after. Unless your door is perfectly square you might run into a similar issue.4. No matter how hard I try there's just no way for me to get the weather strip close/tight enough to close all the gaps around the edges. Not a big deal in the spring/fall, but could be more of a big deal in the middle of summer/winter. Right now for me (January 2023 in Cali) it's not too bad but I can still feel a very slight draft of cold air. If you live somewhere where there's extreme cold you might be impacted more. Those were the biggest issues for me. Other than that the door is easy enough to install and my cats love it. Funny enough, my terrier still doesn't know he can let himself out/in, but my cats learned almost right away. Seems like my chihuahua knows how to use it but he's just too short. And I love it because now I don't have to leave the door open anymore, which will help keep the bugs (especially mosquitos!) out.Not sure what I'm going to do this summer. I like to keep my window open as much as possible and use the AC as little as possible, so I might have to keep switching it between the screen track and glass door track. I didn't test it out on the screen track so I'm hoping it'll even fit there, I'll find out soon enough.Overall, glad I got it, price wasn't too bad, easy enough for me to modify to get it to fit, would recommend. Oh and no drilling too so that was a plus.

Terrific door, nice quality, installed in 15 minutes with a little frost guard upgrade.
I am very happy that I went with the Ideal Pet Products small door for our slider. I did install it with ease and made a couple of changes that I want to share to help others who can save some cash with this door for as the most reasonable I could find. I used the insulation that came with the door on the opposite side that butts into the frame of my slider. I went to home depot and picked up a thicker and wider foam for adhering to the slider door edge to close against the pet door frame. Works much better, totally no gap at all, most of all no draft. As for the lock, don't bother to use it. In its place I cut a broom stick to my open channel dimension and snuggly fits right in at the bottom of the frame and holds the sliding door tightly against the pet door frame. Perfect, easy to open the slider when needed, just lift out the broom stick and open while the pet door stays in position all secured. The pet door is excellent, very nice quality pet door, great looking glass, and the frame looks great, I went with the mil, aluminum selection as my slider is brown, and white wouldn't work but mil looks terrific. I find this pet door very Professional, not cheap. Just do the additional frost seal upgrade and saw off a broom stick handle to fit the rail holding the sidetracked and your good to go. As for the dog, she's 3 lbs. Only a puppy but very curious. The first time through the door we helped her. The second time through we coach her with a treat, took a long time, but now she been poking her head at it all day. Won't be long as she loves to go on the deck. Hopefully we can move her pee pad tray out there and eliminate it in th house. Good luck, hope this helps you decide on your dog or cat door purchase option.

Good product with only a couple issues that are cheap to fix.
I love this it let's our dogs go out without having to always get up and let them out. I fits perfect as I measured before buying. Its sturdy and the magnet is strong enough it stays closed when dogs not going through so no bugs get in or air like the pop up door I bought. Easy to install once we were able to get screw out to put two pieces together the were so tight almost stripped them gadgets to use oil and wd40 and let it sit for a day and it was still hard as can be to get them out. But once past that hickey up simple to put together and install. Other than tight screws only other issue is weather stripping is not very good and doesn't fit right which I knew from reviews I read before I bought it. Bought some better weather strip from hardware store that was the right size for door and that fixed that. Though if our dog is running and jumps though it and hits sides it can move it. But a bar in track behind patio door stops that or we drilled through and screwed one we had before down so it happens with any of these I think and the weather stripping problem was same with one I bought from pet smart years ago as well. All in this this is as agood one as had before, does what it needs to do, and issues are easily and cheaply fixed. If the addressed these issues Id give it five stars, i only give it four because its expensive and even though issues are easily and cheaply fixed when I buy something ove r 50 bucks I shouldn't have to spend even 50 cents more to fix minor issues at all. But even with that I am happy with it as its better than getting up all the time or not getting there to open door in time and having to wait an up an accident.
