Excellent for recording a meeting. Leave it on the table, it's very sensitive so don't keep in pocket or will pick up a lot of noise from clothing. The auto on-off is not so sensitive, If there is ambient noise like a fan it will simply keep recording. Very easy to download and play audio files.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. trust me, it is bad. The thing cannot be disassembled even though it is tempting to do so. A spring or something pops out if you unscrew the top of the pen, that holds the pushbutton to turn it on. It also has trouble recording sound and sometimes doesn't record at all. You cannot tell if you are recording or not. The only sign is some leds but they are not always noticable.The earbud mechanism doesn't work, so you have to transfer it to your computer then to your cell phone. The overall product looks cheap. They stuck a small computer into a pen case. It is overall a bad product- at least if you want to record class lectures.

I loved that it looks like a pen however very cheap and pieces broke, trying to get it fixed at this time

The recording is clear when the source is several feet away. I can honestly say that this is a great product. Not only is it easy to use but the sound quality is more than I had expected for the price.

The pen itself writes well and it's sturdy. I'm not afraid I'll break it. But I personally don't find it comfortable to write with for long stretches. It's too heavy in my hand.I appreciate that the recording feature is discrete but for my purposes it's almost too discrete. It has accidentally been turned on inside my bag more than once and since there's no sound or visible light to indicate that it's recording, I end up with hours of weird muffled noises. The indicator light is hiding under the metal pen clip and is impossible to see if you're not looking for it which also means it's hard to tell if the battery is low or the storage is full, in which case it won't record.On the plus side, both the battery and storage are more than enough to get through a full two or three days of classes without plugging in.There is no software for this pen. If you want to put your recordings on your computer or upload to the cloud, you have to use a third party media software. Windows media player works but isn't ideal. If you want to listen to your recordings directly from the pen, you have to use the included earbuds.The worst thing about this pen is the sound quality of the recordings. In no particular order...1. The microphone picks up the scratching of the pen on the paper WAY too well! It drowns out almost everything else. I no longer write with the pen. I set it on the desk while it records and I write with something else.2. It sounds like you're recording inside a tunnel.3. I sit in the front of the class as close to my instructors as possible and still their voices sound a million miles away but all the sounds from the students sitting behind me come through very loudly.I don't think I will keep using this recorder pen. I'm going to try the livescribe echo pen instead. I'm hoping the search feature and recording headphones will be beneficial.

This is a great pen and recorder. My only issue was I didnt realize how sensitive the recorder is, so I can hear myself rustling around, etc, it is loud. Once I realized I had to keep the pen in a quieter place the recording quality is good.

The pen already had hours of audio on it and as I was trying to down load it my computer locked up and I could not listen to any more audio , this thing is trash and not worth the money it cost .
