NI GPIB-USB-HS Acquisition Card 778927-01 IEEE488 Card Converts GPIB to USB

This product looks like NI product, with Serial Number (SN). But when I plugged to the computer, it was not recognised, even after installing NI 488.2 and NI-VISA. The cable had warning detected in NI MAX. To solve the warning, it is needed to install a driver. But it was already installed, but still not recognised. The reason is unknown. But I had another cable, which was working. So I just plugged this new cable on the computer on which the good cable was used. And immediately, it appeared in NI MAX. It was not appearing on my initial computer. What is strange is that both computers have the same labview version, same NI MAX, same NI 488.2 and same NI-VISA. But on one computer, it did not work, and it worked when I plugged it on a computer on which another GPIB-USB cable was in use. Then it worked on that computer , and magically (still unknwon reason), I picked up the cable and connect to the other computer (on which is did not work initially), and suddenly, it was detected by NI MAX. So as it was working once on a computer, it allowed to work on another computer. First time to see that kind of things, but the good news is that is can work, even the price is 10 times lower and the SN is not in NI database ... but the product is delivered in a NI box, packed as NI product, I mean there is no distinguishable things to think it is a fake, only SN is not recognised. (it seems a SN of NI 9211). Hope it helps ...

I’ve been using hpib/gpib equipment for almost 40 years - I’ve had real HP and NI adapters of all types (Mac/pc bus cards, serial, usb adapters, HP, NI, and a couple others in the dim past). I’ve use both NI Max , Labview, C, & Python. Yes, I have two counterfeit adapters (work in Win7, not 10/11) inherited from another group. For about 1/3 of the NI price I was skeptical this unit but I figured if it didn’t work I’d return it. Bottom line: it worked on my Win11 box with Labview 15 and NI Max (2025) already installed. Came up with no complaint, Device Manager saw it as a USB-GPIB-HS drive, self test through NI Max was fine. Hooked up to a SRS DS345 signal generator, ran a simple sweep using a gpib VI - worked as it should. Next step is to hook up to the rest of my gear (old Hp 8563E, two Lecroy scopes, an HP RF sig gen, and a Anritsu RF sig gen). I’ll update if there are problems but this unit seems to work like an authentic NI adapter. (6/2025)

Produkt ist ok aber der die Kommunikation mit Verkäufer ist ne Katastrophe. Trotz Unterstützung von Amazon habe ich nach über einem halben Jahr keine gescheite Rechnung erhalten. Schon aus Prinzip würde ich bei ihm nichts kaufen.

Hard to believe this USB to GPIB adapter was CHEAPER than a GPIB add in card! And it works perfectly! No issues at all. Plugged it in and was back in operation in no time!
