I contacted the company who makes it and this was their response: "Different forms of vitamin C have different pH requirements for maximum stability and absorption. The form of vitamin C that we use is called sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP). It is a very stable and bioavailable form of vitamin C and needs a pH around 5.5-6.5 for maximum stability and absorption. Our Vitamin C Serum is water-based and has a thin, gel-like consistency that absorbs quickly and easily into skin. We recommend massaging between 2-4 drops into freshly washed skin that has been gently patted dry. You can adjust the amount to suit your skin's needs." Whether or not this is from the actual company or counterfeit, idk but hopefully this helps.

Q: Can this priduct be used around the eye area?

I have used it all over my face w/o any issues, including around my eyes.

Q: do you use prior to moisturizer?

yes, but sometimes I just use it alone on a clean face.
