This Speaker is Great for watching TV, Plug it in pare it to your TV and your good to go, it is not a Portable speaker, you must plug it in an electrical outlet for it to work, However you could use a small power pack with the right voltage to make it sumwhat Portable, it has Great Sound, better than your TV speakers, simple and GREAT,Good Buy.

I bought this to use with my tiny bedroom TV that does not even have optical out. Using aux in is the next best thing and it is perfectly fine for my need. Sound quality is awesome for its size. I use the app to adjust EQ a little bit. When not watching TV, I use the bluetooth input to stream music from my phone. So it also serves as a small bedroom background music speaker. I even use my old portable CD player with optical output with the Oontz's digital input. Note that you need to buy a full size optical to 3.5mm (mini) jack adapter (also available on Amazon) in order to use with mini optical out port of your portable device. Oontz soundbar play the cd with digital out just fine and sounds even better than the line out from the cd player.

I've had this product for a couple weeks now I guess, and it was very easy to set up , and having the small remote control for volume etc is an absolute must for me, rather than walking over to the speaker every time I want to make a change. I run my TV through the speaker which is positioned across the room so as to minimize volume. Unfortunately Samsungs Smart TVs don't seem to give you control of the volume for (outgoing) speakers or sound bars that are not attached to the TV (and perhaps it doesn't work even if they are attached). Anyways, one small design flaw is that the remote control battery compartment is quite difficult to open. I tried using my thumb nail, a coin, and a screwdriver, and the groove just doesn't have depth to make opening easy , so it tore up the thin plastic surrounding the groove. However, I contacted customer support and ask them if they had a replacement remote control, and not only did they send me a new remote control, but they also sent me a whole new speaker. I think it was through accident, but when I let them know and asked if they wanted it shipped back, they said don't bother, and told me to keep the second speaker! So I'm very happy pleased with their customer support Department indeed. :-)

The sound is OK but not what I expected. Too tinny with just average bass. The app has an equalizer function which I tried to use to improve but the process was a PIIA and I gave up. I have a small Tribet sound bar, even smaller than this unit, which performs flawlessly. Get the one with the bass enhancement function. It’s awesome. It connects to Bluetooth automatically with no delay which is rare for a Bluetooth unit.

I was using an Oontz Angle Solo that worked great with my little 22" TV. I saw this Oontz soundbar that should be better, since it's bigger! However, the remote didn't work. There was no plastic piece keeping the battery from draining, so I assume someone already removed it. Perhaps it was just the battery that was dead, but I didn't have another 2032 battery to test with. And besides, I assumed someone returned it, so perhaps there was something wrong with it and I didn't really want to start testing everything, so I just returned it and ordered another one. Amazon is great with returns (since I have PRIME). It did sound great, so I am sure I will be happy with the new one. Update - second unit also had dead remote battery and was also missing the protective plastic piece to keep the battery from draining during storage/shipping. The seller was not helpful and pushed the issue back on Amazon since it was within 30 days of purchase. Amazon support was great and offered to take back the unit and return all my money, or replace the unit, but I have a feeling another one would also have a dead battery, so I am probably keeping it. It is a very nice speaker and does everything I need it to do. 5 stars for Amazon support; zero stars for Oontz support for not just sending me a replacement battery.
