EDIT - I changed my review from one star to five stars because of Anker's response to the situation. The cord in question appears to be NOT the Anker cord. The box had been previously opened and resealed with tape over the tape with "Anker" printed on it. The solar generators and power hub connector that link them together work perfectly. My assumption is that someone purchased the solar generator and returned it with the wrong cord. We recently ordered and received two of these Anker Solar Generators. Typically, Anker products are top notch. I've personally deployed into disaster areas with Anker Solar Generators and they've worked great. This year, I donated three of them to be used in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa. These two units were intended to replace the ones that I sent to Jamaica. I'm not sure is the first unit I opened had previously been delivered to someone else by Amazon and the person put the wrong power cord in it prior to sending it back or if it came directly from Anker with a subpar cord, but when I plugged it in to charge, the cord melted after about ten minutes and then started smoking. I yanked the cord from the socket and the wires shorted, thus arcing and tripping the circuit breaker. The power cord that came with the second unit was MUCH more robust and didn't get hot when I tried changing the unit. Moral of the story--CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE POWER CORD IS HEAVY ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE AMPS REQUIRED TO CHARGE THE UNIT!!! The attached photos show the size difference between the two cords and also show the melted cord.

Quiet, no fumes, runs safely indoors.

I bought this incase my electric went out so I could still run my electric appliances. I use it daily to run my portable standing air conditioner in the summer. It works great and the panels work great. I definitely use it during the electric companies peak hours then I recharge it overnight when it doesn't cost as much. You can charge your phone, computer but make sure you bought the correct one to run your computer, you just need to get use to how many watts you Appliance uses then see how many hours it can run. The panels keeps it charging but it doesn't quite keep up with the output I use. But my air condition on low runs about 6 to 7 hours and I can run a standing fan on low also. If you turn the fan etc on high, you won't get as much time. I need more panels. But I love it. I definitely recommend it.

Awesome unit Powers my entire house two of them saved me on average $140 a month

Everything arrived on time,well packaged and undamaged. This unit powers my home when grid is down. There are a lot of videos on this product and I suggest checking them out if you're interested in this system. I'm interested in purchasing Ankers 405w rigid solar panels in the future to take advantage of fast solar battery charging for this unit. There's nothing like being able to have lights,internet, TV, refrigerator and heat when the power goes out. I also want to use the the F3800 to save money on my electric bill by using it during electric companies peak billing hours.
