Very good to play if you have 4 people playing as well, I find the base verison is a little too small for 4 people, but this big one adds a good amount to the game.

I bought this as a Christmas present 9 months ago. My sister and her family must have played it 150 times, and I have joined in on a few occasions. A very interesting and involved game. I recommend the expansions as they add depth to the game.

It is what it says it is. I prefer the artwork and sizes of 5th edition. Not the sellers fault. 100% satisfied with seller, shipping and price. Easy to set up, even with my 5th edition main game. Most pieces fit my 5th edition. So it is functional and fun.

Great didnt have the latest version, was one behind so had to buy new one of original but thats my fault not this products.

Very good game. If you're not playing with someone who already knows the rules they take some getting used to. The game itself is very interesting and has caused several competitive arguments. Only for 4 players go you need the expansion pack for more to play which does make it quite an expensive game. If check elsewhere for the game before spending this money in future.

Our club of Catan enthusiasts has increased lately - now we have more than 4 people to play, therefore we were in dire need for an extension for the game. I got this one simply because it had the best price at the time when I was looking. The extension has arrived in its own box similar to the original game, but just smaller in size. While the original game set allows you to play the game with up to 4 people, this extension makes it playable for 5 to 6 people. The set has extra terrain hexes with round number tokens for those hexes , and edge port cards to extend the board for extra playable area. It also includes settlements and cities with the roads for extra two people, coming in green and brown colors. The set also includes additional resource and development cards. Basically, that is everything you will need to make game enjoyable for another two more people. The quality of the items are en par with the original game we own, although there is slight difference in coloring of the resource and development cards and the hexes as well. But to be fair, our friends got an extension too from different place and they have the same issue, so I guess that's quite normal, and it does not really affect the playability of the game. We already have the extension for over a month, and we had a chance to use it on few occasions, and I can't really express the amount of positive emotions we have experienced while playing the game.

本体ではなく、拡張版でした。 英語だったのでよく読まずに買って失敗です。これだけでも遊べるのかどうかは謎です。サイコロはなし。 当然ですが、拡張分の追加2人分しか入っていません。まず、本体を買わないとダメですね💦

I love this game!! Obsessed perhaps. The extension (product in review) is awesome. Now we can play with 2 more players. Which is nice. I wish you could extend it even more! Also a few more cards would hurt I find we are always running out of something. But that's OK. The game itself is really fun and everyone is in someway playing the whole time. I love that. But it's a bit hard for some people to learn at first. But just read the instructions and follow then play a few rounds to get the hang of it . I promise you, YOU WILL BE HOOKED!!!

This was the 6th edition. The cards are not the same as my 5th edition. Apart from that it's great and goes well with my 6th edition of city and knights.

We usually use the base game only but the expansion has gotten some play as well when friends or family visit so it has been worth it to get the expansion pack. The extra tiles and cards fit seamlessly with the base game. Differences to note, you end up with 2 sheep ports instead of 1, there is a second desert tile, brick and ore become less rare as there will be 5 of each instead of 3, and there is a special build phase after each player has ended their turn to help players spend their cards before a 7 is rolled again. Make sure that players don't roll before the special build phase is over. One thing that was not mentioned in the rules supplement, if you have 5 players, you can use about half of the extra tiles to make a medium size game. This retains the spirit of playing the base game with 4 players. If you use all of the extra tiles with 5 players, it is more like playing the base game with 3 players.

Excellent game! The original, base game of Catan is awesome and so addictive that I ended up buying this extension too (please note that this product is indeed an extension only.. pointless without the base game). In the age of smartphones, PC games and PlayStation etc. this is a rare item indeed! Entertainment for the entire family! Only one small drawback is that in this newer version of Catan (both base game and extension), the frames and colors for the resources are a little dull. They could easily have been a little brighter and of a more visually appealing color. But rest assured knowing that this is a tiny price to pay for the level of fun this game guarantees!
