I was a bit concerned about buying this charger given its relatively low price. But, I am presently surprised. My car has a large battery and a lot of electronics. I had been taking a lot of short trips that I knew were not long enough or high speed enough to charge the battery. Sure enough, it was taking more cranking for the car to start. I didn't want to spend a lot because I don't often charge batteries. So I gave this a shot. It is compact and light, making it easy to carry and even keep in the car. Both the charging and power cables are of good length. I didn't actually measure them, but I would guess they are 4 or 5 feet each. After hooking it up, it immediately and correctly selected the battery type and charge voltage and amperage. It showed the battery was at 30%. It selected the slowest charging speed, which provides the best charging. An AGM battery, which my car has, should charge slow at low amperage. From 30% to fully charged, it took about 10 hours. After the charge, the car started immediately. The charger has an internal fan that came on automatically at some point during the charge and the charger was only moderately warm. Some reviewer, claiming to be an engineer, claimed this is just an old charger with "fluff" claims. Really? I have watched it go through the cycles and checked its output. It does exactly what is says it does. No, it (usually) will not charge a dead battery - something it CLEARLY states in the Amazon description. And, yes, when you buy through Amazon, it handles the returns, which for some reason annoyed that reviewer.

Bought this after reading a lot of reviews. Lot of good things about this charger. Bought this because I have a second car I dont get to drive to often and because of that. The battery slowly lost a charge and finally needed to jump start it. Its a good battery but letting it sit caused the battery to die. I got this to help keep the battery charged so I wouldn't have to jump start it every time. I take it out of the box and when I plugged it in it says connect clamps. I do such and it keeps telling me to clamp to the terminals. I undo the clamps, unplug the charger, then redo everything. It gives me the same start message. At first I thought I had a DOA product. But reading into other's reviews. I decided to test it out on a brand new battery I bought a month ago for my daily car. Turns out, it worked as intended when I hooked it up to my new battery. Im a little concern that my it says my battery had a 60% charge but it started to auto charge after awhile. Turns out people are right, This charger works good on batteries that have some charge in it but trying to recharge a battery that has nothing in it doesn't work. So if you're looking to maintain your batteries, it works perfectly fine and as intended. But trying to recharge a completely dead battery doesn't work with this "smart" charger.

Purchased this charger in 2019 and unit has worked flawlessly. Works on cars, trucks, ATV's, UTV's and side by sides.

I bought this to replace a very old charger with no intelligence. While the old would charge battery's it would just keep charging them and not stop when the battery was full. So with this charger I can just leave the charger running and not worry about overcharging. The auto amp mode is nice as it will decide how much current it will use. It is a nice compact size and very light and pretty quiet compared to my old one would would loudly hum while charging. This one is so quiet that once it finishes charging the display goes off but then it enters pulse maintenance mode where is charges as needed which is great. It is not off just quietly monitoring and charging the battery. It is also about half the size of my old charger and weighs nothing. It has Velcro to keep the charging cables tied up when not in use. Clamp are not weak and appear well made and makes a good solid connection to the battery terminals. About the only thing I can say is once it goes into charge maintenance known as pulse it will not notice the battery is dropping in voltage. Say you want to run your vehicle in accessory mode to say use the wifi in the vehicle. Your battery will get drained till dead as it will be in maintenance mode which will only keep it topped off and not charge the battery so accessory will use more current then can be made up for.

After my 30 year old all metal 2/10/50 amp charger began acting up, and knowing full well all the name brands out there, I chose the Ampeak 2/10/25 because it has everything I need for a versatile 12v system charger. Plus, like my old charger, it was a "table top" design which I prefer over the dangling "egg shape" models. It is well thought out, and includes two large wiring loom mounts on the back I was surprised to see, which makes storing easy without having to crudely wrap the long wires around the unit like my old charger. It has smart technology and completely shuts off when done, yet allows you to choose either the fully automatic setting or select battery type and amp rate manually. An internal fan kicks on automatically as needed for higher amp loads, and kicks off as the loads decrease when the battery charge catches up. Unlike my ancient metal unit, the Ampeak 2/10/25A is super light and a nice size for anyone to use. It's durable plastic case is well made and won't scratch anything. Ccompared to other popular name that offer no more in features or versatility, and some even less, while ironically costing more money and incorporating a cumbersome egg-like design that can only be wadded up with its wires when stored, the Ampeak 2/10/25A is a great value for home or shop, DIY or Pro.
