Does the world really need another review of Amazon basic tape dispensers? Probably not BUT I found myself literally on a hunt for an adequate tape dispenser and I'm so pleased that the hunt is over! For years I used similar-looking tape dispensers from dollar tree. Unfortunately, that framed what I thought the right price was. Dollar Tree doesn't sell them anymore, as far as I can tell. Once my kids finally ruined the last dollar tree tape dispenser (which was weighted with sand held in place with foam stickers. Maybe not the best plan for long-term durability), I tried two other very affordable tape dispensers. One was super cute -- looked like a big Lego brick. Kinda worked, but the weight really matters. Without any heft, they are frustrating to use -- no better than the plastic tape dispensers that are one-time use. These have heft! I wish they had even more, but it's pretty good! I also really like the pull-out-on-the-side middle bit as I have lost the removable middle pins on other tape dispensers. Be aware these are also full of sand or some sort of rubble that shakes. That's ok as long as it stays inside. But I expect someday one will take a hard fall and we'll have to clean it up. I guess it's better than filling it with lead!

Well made. The price wasn't bad. Very pleased with thus tape dispenser.

Excellent weight so one can use one hand to tear off tape. I love the core that slides instead of removing it and putting it inside the tape rolls. What you do is pull it from the side, insert your tape and then slide it back into the center of the tape roll. Color is consistent, not splochy.
