Don't go by negative reviews
This unit is probably the most bang for the buck you'll find out there. I have 2 of these, one at work for an office that needed supplemental cooling and one at home. For those that say its not really 16k btu's, if you're buying a portal unit off of Amazon, I would guess, you have no idea what your talking about, nor would you know the actual formula for calculating BTU's. Its a good unit, well worth the money, and as long as you are not expecting to cool more than one average room, you'll love it. No it's not going to cool you're entire house. It's smaller than most portable AC's with the same rating, the fan is not overly loud, but moves a lot of air. The duct that comes with it is same as what come with all of them, it sucks, they all do. You need a piece of insulated duct or buy a duct blanket to wrap around the exhaust. If you do this you will be very satisfied. Longevity? Who knows? I didn't buy the extended warranty, at the cost of almost 1/3 of what I paid for the unit, didn't seem worth it to me. If you have no other options for cooling, might be a good idea to get it. the drain hose that comes with the unit, is an awesome addition, I let it drip into a 5gal bucket then use that water for my plants. Make no mistake, the bad reviews are from people that expect it to be more than what it claims to be. Its a good unit, we have several larger sized ones at work, same btu, name brand, that don't do as good as this one. It's 92 today here with high humidity, my living room and dining room, are comfortable with just this unit doing the cooling. With the compact size and the amount of cooling I get, I would give it 6 stars if i could.

Surprisingly Effective AC
Ok...I normally do not leave reviews because most items are generically standard performance items. HOWEVER, I must say I was extremely surprised and impressed by the operational performance of this AC unit. First, it's 'small', about 2/3rds the size of my other portable room AC of 12,000btu. I was certain that the 16,000btu rating on this unit was a little ambitious, so I decided to prove the point by testing the unit using an AC output thermometer (as I was certain I would be sending it back). It took 5 minutes for the unit to stabilize and put out a consist 41-degree Fahrenheit airflow. My front room is 25ft x 30ft and this little unit was cooling it without effort. Also, the noise level, on high fan, was about 1/2 that of my other 12,000btu unit (low fan setting hardly makes noise...about like a small fan). Since I'm using this as a backup, I didn't unpack the remote control; however, its' layout looks simple and functional. Lastly, the window block and exhaust hose are ingeniously designed so that you do not have to cut anything or 'thread' on the hose mounts. The system is a 'snap lock' design, and everything snaps in place tightly and securely. Total set up time took about 5 minutes. Oh...and I definitely kept the unit and may buy another.

Leaks water everywhere! Do not buy! Would give 0 stars if possible
Do not buy! Leaks horribly. Video shows first unit. It was soaking my carpet so I put it in a pan. It filled the pan. Worried about it ruining my carpet. Called Amazon since I had already thrown out the packaging (this is not my first portable a/c - I’ve had several but not this brand and none have leaked like this; but after a few years they no longer cool to the arctic temps I need to sleep). Amazon sent me a replacement unit and said to use the new packaging to send the old one back. Got the new one yesterday and installed it. I also got a different, deeper pan for it. Used it last night and checked it this morning and didn’t see water. Turned it off and about 15 minutes later I saw it was leaking. See the photo. It’s a bit hard to see because the pan is dark. Not a lot yet but I expect it will continue to leak. To keep it away from my carpet I put it on a printer table inside the new pan. The last unit FILLED the pan with water! It also sends water out the front which dampens my carpet so I put a plastic pad down to attempt to keep my carpet dry. Will be contacting Amazon about how to return them both, including the one without the packaging. Got a different brand for my daughter’s (smaller) room and it works fine. Will be purchasing a different brand. Other than the fact it leaks massive amounts of water, it does cool the room! But the leaking makes it unusable.

Worth of purchase. Love noice and Cooling really fast.
This portable air conditioner is a solid choice for small to medium-sized rooms, offering quick cooling and adjustable settings to suit different needs. Its compact design and built-in wheels make it easy to move between spaces, and installation is hassle-free with a simple window vent kit. The unit operates relatively quietly on low/medium settings, though the noise ramps up noticeably at maximum cooling. While it efficiently lowers temperatures, the built-in dehumidifier is a bonus for humid climates. Downsides include occasional water drainage maintenance (despite a "self-evaporative" feature) and slightly bulky size for tight spaces. Overall, it’s a reliable, user-friendly option for renters or those needing flexible cooling—just don’t expect whisper-quiet performance on the highest setting.

Awesome cooling, very convenient
This portable AC is awesome! It cooled my room completely in no time. I love that it’s remote-controlled and lets you customize the temperature exactly how you want it. It's pretty quiet and looks good sitting in the corner of my room. It has wheels so it can be moved easily. The only downside is that it produces water that needs to be drained. Luckily, my room is right above the basement sink, so we were able to run a tube directly to the drain. Otherwise, you’d need to monitor it and empty it manually. Overall, a great unit that works exactly as promised.

Powerful Cooling – Smart Features Make It Even Better!
I’m super impressed with this 16,000 BTU portable air conditioner! It cools down my large living room quickly and efficiently, even during the peak summer heat. The 5-in-1 functionality (AC, fan, dehumidifier, smart app control, and more) really adds to its value. What really sets it apart is the WiFi smart control – being able to adjust settings from my phone or with the remote is incredibly convenient. The 24-hour timer and multiple modes make it easy to set and forget. It was fairly easy to install with the included window kit, and it rolls easily from room to room. The unit isn’t too loud either, which is a plus for sleeping or watching TV. Overall, a great investment for anyone needing serious cooling power with smart home convenience!

Cooling unit just ok. Window assembly GARBAGE.
The unit itself does a decent job. It definitely doesn't cool the square footage that it claims, but it keeps my bedroom comfortable. However, the window kit that comes with it is PURE GARBAGE. The plastic pins that hold the sides in place do not snap in. They fall out and have ultimately been lost due to their falling out and rolling down my roof. The hose attachment itself doesn't snap into place either and falls out if I so much as blow on it (not an exaggeration - it literally fell out when I blew on it, wow.) the entire window assembly does not stay in place even after I used foam to cushion it between the window and the sides. Garbage. Luckily I'm a woodworker. I will be constructing a new housing for the hose and will have to screw the attachment onto the housing. Absolute garbage, through and through. Oh, also, the assembly leaves big gaps, allowing wasps to get in. Pure, unadulterated, garbage. Ugh.
