I really want everyone to know that this product works wonders for my dog, the down side is that the pill is very difficult for my small dog to swallow, I've tried every thing, from coating the pill with butter, peanut butter. It's very difficult. After about 3 to 4 trys we finally manage to get the pill swallowed. The food coloring of the pill is all over my hands, Yuck. I can't imagine trying this with a cat. Unfortunately I will be purchasing another brand that I can crush and put in his food, so he won't be terrified any more.

The package was opened. Three of the pills were popped through. I was going to return it but my dog is ill and needed it so I only am using the unopened portion. Very disappointed

I won't know for a while yet whether the Sam-E is helping my dogs liver or not. She will be tested again in a few weeks. It was recommended by the vet. My dog is a bichon frise, a small dog with a stubborn streak. It is difficult getting these caplets into her. They are really too big for her to easily swallow even if she was cooperating. I don't know how to do a Heimlich Maneuver on a dog, so I wish they were smaller. Using a pill popper did not work well. How I finally got them into her is I coat them in softened butter and use my fingers to get them into her mouth to the back of her tongue with her head tilted upright. I close her mouth and blow on her nose, which makes her swallow. If you have a small dog and can find a smaller version of this caplet, I recommend getting the smaller one. That said, these are what my vet wants my dog to have.

Our vet prescribed this medication for our doggy who had tummy issues. He had random times when he would throw up any food he had consumed. The vet diagnosed that he might have been suffering from a liver issueandbthis was the med that he needs. We are now in our third month of giving him this med and I don’t think that he has had even one issue of throwing up since we started him on this medicine. It is a large hard pill and it was difficult to get him to swallow the pill at first. Then we bought some chicken flavor pill pockets and SHAZAM! Now the pill pocket with the Vetri pill inside is his “special treat” each afternoon. We give it to him about one hour before we serve him his dinner. We also changed his chow from traditional grain based kibble to salmon based no grain kibble. Between those two changes, we now have a changed ( but still dreadfully spoiled) chow hound who no longer loses his lunch. I am not sure whether the Vetri same pills made the change or the kibble change (or both) are responsible for the good improvement on his digestive improvement. We are grateful for the change!
