This table is all that it claims to be! Although it's made of wood, it's easy to move around and easy to put the leaves into it. It is precisely made. I was very impressed with the quality of service from the delivery people. The company that delivers this table makes an appointment for delivery because they assemble it for you and put it in place where you want it in your home. They also take all the packing material away with them so no big cardboard boxes or foam to get rid of. The table is very comfortable to sit at. The storage in the pedestal is roomy enough for tablecloths or placemats. To open the pedestal storage you push on the hidden doors and they release. The mechanism that supports the leaves is easy to work and is very sturdy. The solid wood leaves being 20" x 45" are quite heavy. I am purchasing a table pad for this table because the finish seems it could get scratched easily if sliding things around on it. When closed I use it as a craft table. When open, it will allow everyone to sit at the same table together at family gatherings.

I debated getting a Transformer dining set for literally a year. Without being able to see it in person, all I could do to learn about its quality was read reviews, and reviews like the ones I read would normally lead me to steer clear. People complained most about massive shipping delays and poor customer service. Some complained that the wood is too soft. Some said the latches arrived broken. Several noted poor construction and the product looking different from the marketing images. I searched high and low for similar tables, but didn't find any of the same dimensions and with storage in the base. Finally, I took advantage of the recent Presidents Day sale and just went for it. On Amazon, I ordered the extendable round dining table in Natural. I think the people at Transformer have been paying attention and making changes, because I couldn't be more surprised and pleased with my experience. Soon after purchase, I received a message on Amazon asking me to call them immediately to avoid shipping delays. I thought, "Oh no, here we go. I was warned..." But it turns out they just wanted to confirm my phone number so the delivery people could contact me with my delivery window. (Their hours are 9:30-5:30 PM EST - I didn't know that and at first thought they weren't staffed to answer my call. When I called within their operating hours, they answered quickly). The delivery company was very communicative, and by the day before my delivery I knew my 2-hour window. The delivery driver also called me 30 min in advance. My table arrived within one week. It came in two boxes without any damage. The tabletop box was HEAVY. I put it all together myself, but needed another person to help me stand it upright. Every screw and latch works well. Yes, the wood is kind of soft, but it's not any softer than an average person would expect. Someone had noted that there's not enough leg room at the ends of the table. I think that may be true for tall people, but at 5'2" I feel fine. The construction feels sturdy and looks clean. I ordered the matching dining chairs separately, directly through the Transformer website, and my delivery experience was the same. Honestly my only complaint is that you have to use an allen wrench to put all the chairs together and I couldn't angle in my cordless screwdriver. But this really does not detract from my overall positive impression. Transformer is always running sales and they're about the same amount off, so don't feel pressure if you're about to miss a sale. Costco probably has the best price around, but they offer less flexibility in selection of items and sometimes they're out of stock. It's possible I've just gotten lucky with my experiences, but having ordered through both Amazon and Transformer directly, I have confidence in customer service through either.

Thus table is amazing it was our 1st Thanksgiving we all day together. Ten of us and it was very comfortable. The only problem I have is if the table us on a rug it is a little challenging.

Came damaged. Been trying to get ahold of warranty department for over a week and they keeping giving me a number that doesn’t work. For the money I think I would go somewhere else. I actually really like the table and concept but customer service and quality not up to expectations

So far so good! Delivery was delayed twice, but once it did arrive it was a very smooth delivery. a extremely easy to assemble and packaged very well.

Not sure why this had such stellar reviews. Poor quality, fiberglass in the packaging, pieces didn't fit together well. It looks okay, if not crooked, and is large enough to fit what we wanted. It works, but quality is mediocre at best. Guess you get what you pay for!
