The blade is made of stainless steel and the handle is made of metal. I just examined the blade and the metal handle is decorative and seems to be very sturdy. I thought this was a very good buy for me. The only complaint I would have is that I would not classify this as a short sword. I would classify this as a long dagger, which was still okay for me.

A good decorative piece
Well made with no play in the handle or blade. A good decorative piece. The point is quite sharp like a dagger. The rest of the blade is totally dull which is what I expect for a display piece. I bought it for my daughter and she really likes it.

Don't expect too much.
-not a sword by any definition-blade is more or less that of a long pocket knife (stainless steel)-looks like a toyThat said, it costs twelve dollars so you get what you pay for. Looks fine as a decoration.

Decent quality for the price. I would have expected more if I had paid more for sure though. There really is NO edge on this "blade". Not even a little so attempting to get one would require a lot of effort. I'm going to assume the description said that and I just overlooked it otherwise the would be fewer stars. I needed it quickly for a costume so it worked for that. If I had it to do over would I buy it again? Only under the same circumstances. Otherwise I would take the time to research and get something nicer, even if it cost a little more.

Makes a great letter opener!
A great little show/ costume piece! Actually, because the edges are completely blunt, this dagger makes a great letter opener! For $15, it’s worth the purchase and is pretty good quality.
