Great tool - sharp and easy to use. Makes light work of bark stripping. Would recommend

Another high quality Beavercraft product. Not only reasonably priced, but quality craftsmanship. Most, of my go-to carving knives are Beavercraft, they all sharpen easily and hold their edge. I have some higher cost Swiss knives, but I always go back to my Beavercraft. We also have several straight blade Beavercraft bushcraft knives we keep in our RV, we use them for fishing to cooking over the campfire! Heavily used and still in pristine condition I had a limited chance to try this one out over the weekend. As predicted it performed flawlessly. We are packing for a big move to another state, I’m anxious to give this one more of a workout in the future!

(updated review in 2025 at end) 2022 purchase: I have had this for well over two years now. My kids have used it and I have used it. Beware, this thing is sharp sharp sharp. I love drawknives and spokeshaves and have multiple of each in both wood and metal bodies. I love each one for its characteristics. With this particular model, I have never been able to warm to it, though it was actually highly prized as it was my first one. I simply rarely reach for it these days. Quality is fine, handles are strong enough for the tool, no quality control issues either. Nice leather protector too. edited review: this cannot replace the controlled cut of a spokeshave, but as a straight handled drawknife, its actually quite lovely. Through more effort, I have learned to control this beast, using both bevel up and down for various cuts. Its particularly useful on shaping and then refining small pieces where a large drawknife is simply too large. So, sorry Beavercraft for the initial somewhat warm review. Your small drawknife is great, and at the price, a steal.
