tldr; I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!!!
This is my second travel guitar (the first was a much more expensive Enya and I had to throw it away when the electronics failed and Enya would not honor their warranty). Short version: I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! The best feature is the neck. It's comfortable, and the fretwork is five star. It was perfectly set up out of the box with surprisingly low action. It plays well, and the body is light and well balanced. Tuners are nice, too. The electronics are easy to use. If you want to plug in, the placement of the output jack on the back is genius. Finally, the gig bag is as good as you can get. This is one of the easiest to play guitars I own. The satin finish combined, low action, AAA+ fretwork make this one of the "fastest" acoustics I've ever played. It just dares you to go shreddy. As a bonus, the effects are easy, and my favorite feature is that you can select from 18 different acoustic guitar sounds (there's a nine position selector and a button to change body sound profile) from twangy to deep and dark. As far as the onboard electronics, they sound great through headphones, and they are "way good enough" for busking, playing at a local bar or filling in for the regular guitar player at church. Not to be underestimated: this guitar just looks cool - and the huge SONICCAKE on the headstock sends the right message to brand snobs: "don't care -- I'm here to play". After playing for a month, same opinion. Love this guitar. Strongly recommended!

Quite the steal for the price.
love this guitar. Very light. It does not feel like an acoustic as the neck is narrow and the strings are thinner, which I like. Much easier to play lead on it when needed. The sounds created by their electronics is excellent. Truly amazing when wearing headphones. Well constructed, looks incredible.

Killer deal for a travel guitar!
I checked out a lot of review videos before purchasing this guitar. I was impressed enough with the reviews to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. This is an incredible little guitar. I did have to do a little setup work. I've seen some reviews where people mention the high E string being weaker than the other strings. Mine also has this issue. This is due to the saddle not being even on the bottom. I sanded mine down so the action would end up where I preferred and in the process, evenly sanding the bottom, took care of the weak E string as well. So, when it comes to quality control, Sonicake needs to do better on the saddle. It's an easy fix for an amateur luthier such as myself but a newbie isn't going to be able to fix the high E weakness problem on their own. However, keep in mind that it is an easy fix for a luthier. If you end up with one of these guitars that has the weak E string issue, either take it out and sand the bottom evenly, or take it to a guitar tech that can fix the issue for you. Once the issue is fixed, this guitar plays very well. But, for that particular issue, I had to deduct one star. I love all of the sound variations included in the preamp. Position 1 is just the piezo with no coloring. This is a great setting in that you can dial in the exact sound you want in your acoustic amp, pedalboard or multi-effects pedal. If you are going to plug this guitar straight into a PA without external effects processing, you'll definitely want to try some of the other "body" settings to see which one sounds the best for your particular application. Besides the straight piezo setting, I also like the dreadnought and jumbo settings. I have already used this guitar at some of my gigs, as well as a few open mics. The curiosity questions and compliments have been numerous. So far, no one has expressed any negative opinions about the sound. All of the input I've gotten from my fellow guitar players has been extremely favorable. For playability, I also love the short 25" scale of this guitar. I have other acoustic guitars with 25" scales and I love them. Very easy to play and pitch bend, even with 12 gauge strings. The guitar is very lightweight. Mine weighs about 3.5 lbs. give or take. The bone nut was cut perfectly, so I did not have to make any adjustments there. The saddle height was okay out of the box, but I prefer a very low action so I modified it as I mentioned above. Tuners work fine, but I may eventually replace them with higher ratio tuners. This guitar has a proprietary bolt to hold the wooden frame in place. This bolt also serves as a strap pin. My suggestion is to always screw it back into the guitar after removing the frames. You definitely don't want to lose this bolt as it is not replaceable, to the best of my knowledge. I seriously doubt Sonicake has replacements available, but you could try asking them by email before you make this purchase. I may do so myself and if they do have replacements, I may buy two extras to have them on hand just in case. As far as the built in effects, I like the Reverb 2, but not a fan of Reverb 1, although since all of us are different, your opinions will vary. Definitely not a fan of the Chorus effect. At the lowest setting, it sounds like a phase shifter. Can't quite get that nice mellow doubling effect I get from other pedals, but no big deal for me. I have a multi-effects pedal that gives me exactly what I need for this guitar. Also not impressed with the body enhancement button. I am unable to tell any significant difference, but then again, I'm old and my ears are not so good anymore. If you're younger with good ears, you might actually be able to appreciate the difference more than me. Bass, treble and volume controls work just fine. Have not tried the Aux In. Charging is fast and I appreciate the USB-C port as opposed to micro usb. Charges up pretty fast and on a full charge, it'll get you through at least two gigs without needing to be recharged. However, keep in mind that like any internal lithium ion battery, it will eventually wear out and not hold a charge as long. The good news is that the internal battery can be easily replaced. They are available right here on Amazon, dirt cheap. I have one in my Wish list for future purchase. Just do a search for 3.7v 103450 Lithium Polymer Ion Battery. As of this review, the lowest price I've seen is $9.49. Pretty cheap to keep this guitar fully charged years from now. Headphone jack works great! I live in an apartment and it's great to be able to play this guitar as loud as I want without disturbing my chronically unsocial and crabby jerk of a neighbor (every apartment complex has at least one of those). The coated strings that came on this guitar were surprisingly decent but I changed them anyway just because of brand and gauge preference. Padded gig bag is very good quality with lots of padding and an accessories compartment. I haven't flown on airlines in over 30 years, so I don't know if this qualifies as carry on. Some have mentioned that it does, but I don't know for sure myself. Well, I think I've covered all the bases, but there is one last bit of bad news: I bought this guitar the first week of May 2025. I believe I bought the last one here on Amazon, because they showed out of stock after my purchase. They have not been restocked as of July 6th, 2025 and the Sonicake website also shows them as sold out. If you're wanting one of these, you should contact Sonicake directly from their website to find out when they'll be back in stock. My guess would be in the Fall or just before the holidays. Seems par for most import guitars. Surprisingly there are no used ones available right now on Reverb either. That tells me that buyers are holding onto them. So, I hope you're able to get one of these soon. They are a much better deal than the Yamaha version. This one is definitely more bang for the buck. Brand new they are $299. I got mine for $249 with a coupon. One last thing I forgot to mention is that this Sonicake travel guitar appears to be loosely based on the Yamaha SLG200S, which sells for $799. One main difference between the two is that the Sonicake doesn't have an onboard tuner like the Yamaha, and the Yamaha uses two AA batteries instead of internal battery. Other than that, I don't see too much difference in anything else other than price. For me this was a no brainer because, there is absolutely no way that the Yamaha version is $500 better. Nope, not on this plane of existence! I was looking for something similar to the Yamaha with the look and feel of a real acoustic guitar. This Sonicake fits the bill perfectly. And there you have it; my long-winded review of the Sonicake QGT-01.

Does not work properly
No sound through guitar itself. Sound only through earphones or external amp. Not the way it is supposed to be. Should be sound through guitar also according to ad.

Perfect for what we needed.
Excellent support from seller JFOUT, they responded super quickly to my inquiry. The guitar is perfect for what we were looking for in this price range. IMO its performance rivals more expensive guitars of this type. Ours was great right out of the box. For those that get a guitar where the action seems a bit high or low, often a slight truss rod adjustment or saddle adjustment is all that is needed (I would start with a very minor truss rod adjustment). Even brand new very expensive Martin guitars sometimes need this. Also, I read someone's comment about high E or low E string being quieter compared to the other strings, when amplified. For acoustic guitars with piezo pickups, this balance can generally be improved with slight adjustments to the shape of the bottom of the saddle. Do a search and you'll see good advice. If you're going to do this on your own for the first time, I would actually recommend setting the original saddle aside for safe keeping, and buy a replacement saddle to work with. Chances are you won't need to do anything, but it's always good to know you have options.

Small toy guitar
It's a good travel guitar. But it was small. I went and found a full size travel guitar instead.

Easy to assemble and decent sound quality.
A great instrument for the cost. It weighs about 3.5lb so no problems with shoulder or back fatigue. The fret board was true, no warping or excessive bow or back bend. And the rounded frets had no spurring. The tuners were smooth and firm, no slipping or jumping. I after a quick set up, this could be a fine travel guitar.
