HP Stylus Pen for Pavilion, Envy, Spectre & X2 x360 Touchscreen Laptops

Better than expected! I have HP Pavilion x360 (2-in-1 14-ek0033dx) laptop for my university classes and bought this pen so I could take notes. It doesn’t use bluetooth but the computer was able to recognize it immediately, and recognizes it every time the tip gets close to the screen. I can use it to draw in excel, word, and PDF files on Edge. I pair it with a Microsoft store app called “Journal” to take my notes it. The erase and right click button functions are very handy too. Overall, I am very happy with this pen. It is loud and clicky while writing, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

I was a little skeptical about this pen at first. It took me hours of searching for a replacement pen as I lost both the pen that came with my HP ENVY X360 15-ed100 and another rechargeable MMP 2.0 tilt pen that costs a pretty penny. I couldn't find a definite confirmation as to what would work and didn't want to waste any more money on something that might not work. THIS PEN DOES! And to be honest, though its not rechargeable, I prefer it more than the HP pens. It has a clip so I don't lose it, its lightweight, thin, and extremely comfortable. Not to mention it came in a dark blue! Super gorgeous! Works like a charm - great product you guys

- Not sure if anyone else contributed this information already, but I figured I might as well, just in case. ** ALWAYS use the Tip Removal Tool to help**) QUICK TOUCHPOINTS ON MY REVIEW: It may work for other machines/devices than listed, but it's **not** guaranteed to work. There are three tip types that come; some may work with certain devices, or it may not work at all. This is NOT a pen that needs to be "connected" or "paired" in order to use; it is like we used to say in the earlier days of computing - it's "Plug-N-Play." :) As stated in the product info and shown, this particular pen does not connect through Bluetooth NOR any other means - so as soon as you put the battery in the back end and press the two side buttons once, it'll activate and turn on. So to recap, it WILL work right out of the box on devices (computer, as well as SOME mobile devices) or fingertip tactile response (regular fingertip touch). Below is my in-depth exploration, so I hope this answers some questions out there! I was hesitant to spend only $30 or $35 on a pen that wouldn't end up functioning in a way to help me in my job and after-market products do sometimes have intermittent issues with working on certain devices and machines. Here's the full review that I was able to quickly roll off the top of my head, before I jump into some design and wireframing today! * OVERALL: It's a great pen which I rate 4 of 5 stars due to the rear "tip" not being compatible with the type of machine I utilize, but I didn't verify that it'd be an exact replacement for the pen that came out the box when I got this machine. The K2-C Pen does all the functions as advertised, yet keeps process of use minimalistic, easy, and quick to change the Function Buttons on the pen for specific jobs. An instruction cardlet kind of conveys the super basic ideas of use and specs; most systems will let you opt to change the functions of those buttons. * OS/ENVIRONMENTS/MACHINES: - Windows (10 Pro) Env(s): I'm personally working on the HP Pavilion x360 14" CDXXX 2-in-1 Windows 10 Pro, Version 20H2 OS; Build 19042.928 - MacOS Env's: N/a, no tactile response on workstations or machines just yet. - Linux Systems Env's: This could be hit-or-miss, depending on the machine and the distro of Linux used, but most Linux distros are great about PNP devices, so I would anticipate that this would function as normal as with a Windows machine -- BUT DO NOT QUOTE ME. Just assuming :) I utilize the program called "HP Pen Control", which was already installed by default, so I must utilize that program to change the functions. If you're unsure, you can use your keyboard to bring up a RUN PROMPT (Win Key + R) > THEN TYPE "control" and hit Enter. When window loads, the upper right-hand part of the window says "View By:" -- click this and select LARGE ICONS and the display will change so you can click on the option called "PEN & TOUCH". There, depending on the machine you have, you can modify or find out how to modify those Function Keys. :) _______________________________________________________________ /*/*/ The remainder of this review is just to add some info to help those in the future who would like to: - Modify the Functionality of the buttons - Explain what other devices I can confirm that it'll "function" with (either fully or to a certain extent) - Lastly, try to generally direct anyone on HOW TO CHANGE THE FUNCTION OF THE BUTTONS, depending on the machine you're using. * AVG USE & TIMEFRAMES: It only requires one battery at a time, which doesn't waste quickly at all, unless during improper storage during non-use; (take out the battery if not used often, keep the tips & the mechanism without chips/nicks/clear damage, etc. * FUNCTIONALITY: There are the two functional buttons; TOP BUTTON is defaulted to the Right-Click function. To perform this function, hold the TOP button down, and then tap or select the screen option. If this method doesn't work well for you the first time, just repeat to get the hang of it. Alternately, you can simply use no buttons at all - just tap the item or area to Right-Click on and hold the pen as as steady as you can until a Square shows around the pen. This signifies that once you lift the pen, the context menu for Right-Click will show. * POWER: Non-Rechargeable, Requires AAAA Batteries This is not a rechargeable unit and requires a an uncommon battery type that's one tier smaller than AAA, called a AAAA battery. It's noticeably thinner, but can easily be confused with AAA which is too large to fit. When you order this pen kit, it DOES come with a first AAAA battery. If you have difficulty finding more for future use, Amazon directly provides their own brand of products, including electrical consumables. I order a small pack of AAAA batteries every half year and I've not even finished using 2 batteries when I've used the pen for over half a year! As small as the battery may seem, the energy required by the pen is minimal. /*/*/*/ TAKE CARE TO DO THE FOLLOWING /*/*/*/ Avoid pressing the tip OR any buttons when not specifically being used so that it can rest and Auto-Of. Even better, take the battery out if you're traveling (for example) and are concerned that the battery/tips/unit itself might get damaged and store all pieces back in the box or in a secure container. Very durable, as it's made of fully from metal (except tips, of course). /*/*/*/ OTHER DEVICES & MACHINES /*/*/*/ ** HOWEVER iPads: other than the machines and devices listed here, I can only attest to iPads responding to the butt-end of the pen for use, but since the pen is made out of metal, it's not ideal to use that end as a stylus. ** The other tips do not seem to function for the screens on iOS devices, otherwise. So far, all generations are detecting the connection of the rear of the pen for input and taps/swipes. The opposite, rounded "butt" is, even though is metal, is responsive on SOME mobile/tablet devices where the tips are NOT responsive. Again, metal on glass = not a good combo, but if you have a mobile device that doesn't register when you switch out the tips ( and yes, each tip IS different and has a different feel on the screen when you write, as ball-point pens "glide" on paper). Play around with the tips to ensure your screen type and best tip for your project. ***** NOTE: Matte displays (screens that have non-glare, no shine in the light, and therefore you shouldn't be able to see reflections when the screen's black) may require one of the specific tips to keep from marking up or ruining the screen over time. I'm just thinking forward once it's used more! :) OVERALL, IN THE END: Very pleased, but I do wish I had the rear eraser button on this so I could streamline my design process!

Initially my first pen broke within the first two weeks of purchase but the customer satisfaction team were quick to contact me and replace the pen. The process was seamless, and before I knew it I was happy using the touch screen functionality of my HP Envy again! Pros: - Cost effective ($) - No drivers needed! (Plug n play) - Has a good weight to it, sturdy too. - Low power consumption Cons: - Buttons are not configurable. Hard coded to erase and use the secondary colour pallet when drawing. Otherwise, provides right click functionality. Minor nuisance, I'm sure I'll hack the pen eventually. 9/10 would recommend!

Worked fantastic with my hp, until a few days after the return window closed when it completely stopped working. I replaced the battery and the nib, neither of which worked. Was happy with how well it worked and the price. Reached out to seller and with the one year warranty, they quickly replaced it and the new one works like a dream. Love it.

When I bought it in Feb 2022, I made sure to check that is was compatible with my laptop (HP ENVY x360 15m-ed0xxx) before buying, and it was. For the past month or two, it has been acting up to a point where my laptop wasn't registering it. I got new batteries for it (even though the product description said it would last 300 days) but that did not stop it from not working properly; I had to keep taking the new batteries out every few minutes and putting it back in for the pen to only work for about 5 more minutes. I also had changed the tip with the extras provided, unfortunately, the pen still did not function as it should. As of today, it doesn't work at all. I'm really sad because this pen was honestly perfect for the price when I first started using it until this past month :(

Principal Uso: dibujo digital Estoy probándo 2 Stylus: A) Bamboo Ink Plus fabricado por Wacom en Cambodia B) Stylus Pen K2-C-Pen fabricado por Transborder alias Driac.com (Shenzhen Transborder Technology Limited) en China. Reconocmimiento: Ambos stylus son reconocidos de inmediato y sin problema. Puedo usar la configuración de Windows. Importante! Wacom requiere la configuración MMP (cambiar presionando los dos botones laterales a la vez). Botón superior/Borrador: Wacom no funciona, Transborder K2 no tiene. Drivers: A) Wacom Software específico detecta algo de los drivers específicos, pero no reconoce el software. No puedo abrir las configuraciones, etc. Tilt: El tilt de A funciona aunque está todavía lejos de Mac Stylus. Se supone que B tiene, pero no he conseguido hacerlo funcionar. Sensibilidad. A tiene más variación de sensibilidad, se nota mejor la diferencia entre suave y fuerte. B en general es más sensible y para dibujar sin sensibilidades específicas se cansa la mano menos. Botones laterales/usar como ratón: En ambos funciona para usar los botones como si fuera un ratón. Botones laterales/funciones dibujo: A. No puedo arastrar líneas o hacer click para terminar una polyline. La puedo dibujar pero no terminar. En B me funciona perfectamente. Todavía no he encontrado el stylus perfecto para mi caso de uso. Depende de muchas variables y todas las actualizaciónes, drivers de otros recursos y software. Es un tema bastante complejo. Pero con estos dos combinados, de momento me apaño. Si fueran algo más económicos probaría algún otro modelo, pero tendrá que esperar ;-)

was nervous about ordering for my HP ENVY- opened today and LOVE it. All you have to do is place the battery in the pen and it auto connects for you! you can scroll your screen without even actually touching the screen. great accuracy! would 10/10 recommend! I also used it for art (main reason of purchase) WOW! I was really impressed with the ease and glide this pen has! almost as natural as pencil to paper! if you're thinking about it .. DO IT!
