Pink Burst Soprano Dolphin

This is a great, inexpensive instrument. Right out of the box it plays decently, lowering the action makes it really nice. It's not really fair to compare this with ukes costing 5 or 10 times as much, but this plays well, sounds good, and stays in tune. That's all I need from an instrument! I was going to order nice strings, but am glad I waited. My uke, which I think came from Primeexpress, already had Aquila Nylgut strings on it. Aquila Nylguts are probably the most popular gourmet strings you can buy, and they came free. I can't overstate how awesome this has worked out. BTW you may want to keep the box and packing material. They protect the uke much better than the gig bag!

Lightweight, colorful, and easy to play. Perfect starter instrument and makes a great gift.

EDIT 9/1/20:: Originally, I had intonation issues with our Pink Malaka Dolphin in my original review. The uke was playable for my daughter to learn on and I decided to buy Aquila "Kids" New Nylgut strings. I bought new strings because they are colorful and I can call out colors instead of string numbers. Well.. Putting on new strings on a uke is like putting on tires on a car. I realized you wouldn't call a car bad just because the tires from the factory were bad. New strings on this ukulele made a big different in the sound quality on this Makala. It now makes good bright sounds and still has good sustain. All basic chords including a "C" ring out wonderfully. I've had bad strings before but they weren't Aquila and were questionable unknowns. I suppose I should have known better. As such, I'm raising my score to a 4/5 but do beware of the factory strings! I've added a picture with the Aquila "Kids" strings for those who are curious. They are really, really nice strings. --- Original Review The quality of this ukulele is nice. The body is nice with a decent finish and has a durable plastic top side and bottom. I don't think I'd have a problem at the beach. The neck is usable for my adult hands, so kids should be fine. I bought this for my daughter to play along with me and my ukes. However, right out of the box the intonation is bad. It's been a few months and we've had it sitting on a wall. The strings have stretched and it does hold it's tuning. Just disappointed that something as simple as a "C" chord doesn't play accurately. Maybe a bad saddle, I'm not sure. The rest of the playing is ok. Nothing to write home about. The sound is a bit thin but the sustain is good.

This Ukulele is adorable and great for a beginner. I got it for my 10 yr old and she loves it. It appears sturdy and well made. I did have to tighten the peg screws because I couldn't get it to hold tuning. After I tightened the screws, stayed tuned and sounds good! Be aware the "bag" it comes with is paper thin like the recycle grocery bags you can get.

Great sound easy to learn we love the design and color. Daughter plays every day. The strings can get a bit un tuned but not way off luckily there's plenty Great free tuner mobile apps so a quick minute fix. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Great sound, great price! Looks just like the picture. Consider looking around on this site, though. For about 10$ more you can get a bunch of accessories as well like a ukulele stand and a tuner and extra strings. It might be worth the research.

Loved this uke at first... color spot on, sounded great, perfect starter uke. 2 months in, with daily use & practice however, the neck is completely warped and the sound is terrible. Good uke for kids perhaps who won't care about sound quality or learning to play for real. Wish I had not ordered a second one for a friend because right after I did, mine started warping and is now completely ruined. :(

and I don't plan on getting other ukuleles unless I turn pro! Its sound is great, it's cute, and easy to play on. I only wish there was an option to get a case with it because the soft fabric "case" is pretty much useless, but the ukulele itself is a great deal.

Okay tone, but working well for a year now. The students I teach that have purchased cheaper, colorful ukulele's, are having problems with the necks of their ukuleles. This one is still going strong.

Really impressed with the quality of the tone, the strings are soft on the fingers and it’s a super little instrument for this price, and a lovely colour too. I have had no problems with tuning.

Sirve para tocar, para decoración, para todo. Llegó en perfectas condiciones y más bonito no puede ser. Como una pega decir que las cuerdas que trae se desafinan super rápido, pero siempre se le puede cambiar por otras.
