Replacement CMOS Battery for DELL Inspiron 1318 1720 1721 Vostro 1400 1500 1700 XPS 15 L501X Precision M2400 M4400 M6500 Backup Reserve Button Cell Batteries 3 Pins 3 Wires

Before installing battery decided to check to see if battery was vizually identical to my present one. Upon inspection, it was apparent that the connector end of the battery assembly was different than the one in my computer. According to your description, it is supposed to be a direct replacement for the button battery in my Dell Inspiron 1720. This will never work withis wiring configuration. As far as I know no changes were eer made to this model laptop. Your supplier is negligent in this case.

Battery works fine. Red and White wire were reversed for my Dell Vostro 1500. I'm not sure if polarity makes a difference, but to be safe I cut both wires, connected red to the white and white to red and soldered them. Red +positive was located on the middle pin of my original battery.

This battery was compatible with my Inspiron 1318, very easy to install.

Got it and took attention that red wire is connected to edge ping, not to middle pin. Took a voltmeter and yes - wiring is incorrect. Beware.

the charge disapated .stopped working after 3-4 months. maybe it was a run down used cmos battery . dont buy this product.-

I should've tested the battery properly after i installed it. As it stands, my return window closed a week ago. The laptop battery drained completely and the cmos battery failed to hold the bios settings.

Comes Just as described, 4 starts because it doesnt work as is for all the listed systems, I had to remove everything it came with and just use the battery for mine.

The wires are not right.
