Instructions say load the brush and it does work, however I have found when painting it can feel like the brush is dragging and seems a bit heavy. For larger areas using a small 4 inch roller helps. In general the paint covers well

so much better than the water based type
The undercoat goes on so smoothly with either a brush of roller . The primer dries to a very smooth finish . It takes a while for it to dry but it does allow you to come back to the job and continue painting without the paint lifting as you touch a previously painted area . Coverage is very good and the ability to cover a darker colour with just one coat . This product is so much better than the water based alternative.

Very thick and difficult to spread.
It seems to cover okay, but it is very thick and difficult to spread and lay off, so painting larger areas is particularly tricky. It helped to add some thinner/ white spirit but not too much.
