Thought it was going to be another typical historical drama but It is a brilliant film by SLB based on a work of fiction. I was glued to the screen after seeing the realistic sets and intense portrayals of the lead characters by the lead actors. I think viewers have to understand that it is a work of fiction and the producers have made it clear at the start of the film that this is a work of fiction not intending to demean anyone of any race or religion. Those who cannot understand this probably believe that the Jedi Religion is real :) SLB's brilliant direction makes you feel like you were living in that age. Worth watching many times to fully appreciate his attention to detail. Only criticism was the disc which was spotless but had minor flaws in recording but the film was too good to let that spoil the experience, still I do think these companes need to improve their quality control

I have never seen a more bautiful piece of film art. Every scene is an aesthetic delight. The music is fantastic, and the story line has all the elements of a classic epic tale.

One of the greatest Bollywood films ever,

Beautiful story, told with gorgeous details. The photography is beautiful and I enjoyed the performances of the cast - so much that I had to buy another of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films. Subtitles are no inconvenience. As many times as I've watched this movie, I have the dialogue memorized. This is a film you can watch many times and still find something new and beautiful in it. It is a sad tale but richly told and presented.

Very masterfully and skilfully written,directed and filmed a questionable historic story. The characters are never in question,,the story is questionable as there are no solid accounts of it. A very graceful Padmavati,a very brave king and very cruel khilaji....deception,by moguls, sticking to the humble culture of being gracious host as a rajput...a devoted brave and beautiful Queen... a less credited shahid kapoor has done a marvellous job , deepika Padukone and ranveer singh are intense and have done justice ti their characters. Songs are very melodious. Everything is A OK about this movie. Watched it in theatre,online etc but still had to have DVD in my collection..worth every penny.

This is an amazing movie by Indian director Bansali. The subtitles do not detract from this great epic. I thought the actors portrayed their characters so well especially the Queen, who was very brave and courageous. The end is totally shocking and is the reason it was banned in India.

This is so f’ed up. I seriously thought I would be getting one of my favorite movies delivered to me and all I got was this trash.

Big beautiful production, some songs, great costumes and pretty good acting. If you love Bollywood, this is a must-see. I understand that the actor who plays the villain is a graduate of Bloomington University in Indiana!

The film is a fictionised account of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary queen mentioned in Padmavat. According to Padmavat, she was the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar. In 1303, Alauddin Khilji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, laid siege to the Chittor Fort in Rajputana. According to Padmavat, Khilji led the invasion motivated by his desire to capture Rani Padmini. There are no special features on bluray, and the audio is only in Hindi... No 3d version included.

A good collection for who love bollywood music

Excellent !! Voilà un spectacle bollywood à la maison. Quel grand film. L'actrice est juste sensationnelle. Belle amazone , danseuse géniale. Une histoire d'amour d'un roi et d'une princesse. Une princesse dont on vente la beauté dans toutes les contrées. Et évidement réveille des jalousies et de l'envie. Un éternel rival du roi, se met en quête de la conquérir. C'est alors la guerre. Des chants et des danses, des costumes de dingue. Un scénario digne d'un grand réalisateur . Bravo.. Ps: une contrariété . J'ai acheté ce DVD 22 € environ, deux jours après il s'affiche à moins de 10€ ! On se foutrait de ma gue****?

Es una excelente película, no tuve problemas con el producto y no tuve problemas con el envío, incluso el vendedor siempre estuvo al tanto; adquirí la versión dvd ya que era la única disponible.
