Does the job well for small $$
I used this to replace the cassette on my commuter bike for a single speed conversion. Perfect for what I needed. I see no reason to get anything more expensive for a single speed with a regular hub. I have since switched to a different system (WI eccentric + freewheel) for better chain tension. With horizontal dropouts or a tensioner this is the perfect cog.

Typical Cog
I went from 15t to 16t. I prefer Surley - but I didn't want to spend the extra $$ in case I didn't like the 16t. Works well -- had to hit the local bike shop to get a couple extra spacers to fit my surley single speed kit. This is about 1mm thinner than the surley cog.

Works perfect.
Works perfect, so easy to swap out on a Shimano style cassette/freehub. As long as you have the tool to remove the outer lock ring on the freehub that holds the cog in place. I needed an HCW-17 for mine and a tool to hold the cog in place while using the tool to hand loosen the lock ring. This is for the 15 tooth cog. I replaced a 17 tooth stock cog on a 24" BMX bicycle.

best deal
best deal on singlespeed cogs. Made in Japan and typical shimano quality. These do fit on 8/9/10 speed road freehubs although it doesn't explicitly state that this is the case. There are better cogs with wider inner contact surfaces but they cost like 5x more...

Put this on my SE Bikes Monster Quad and exactly what I needed for fraction of the cost you’d get at the local bmx shop

Great Cog, Super Well Made. A+
Shimano is the biggest for a reason, and this cog is proof of that. Extremely well made and finished, and it won't break the bank. Buy this one, you will not be sorry.
