if done quickly but u would still feel the pain might as well place an ice bag when numb do a stitch replace the ice and keep going that nubs it best unless u can get lido with procain 5o 5o works best but can be expensive

will this help with arthritic pain in lower back?

I don't think so. I think it is much better for pain that is associated with itching or if you were going to get waxed or a tattoo. It doesn't seem to be helpful with muscle or joint pain.
