A difficult (for me) kit but the printer now works fine
Works great and buying this printer as a kit did save some money but note that I found it a challenging assembly. I have built quite a few computers but this was more difficult. At the end I wondered whether the saving was worth the frustration. Getting the tension right on drive belts takes much more fussing around than just screwing in a board or a drive. In several places some assembly required awkward reaching around the printer. The step by step directions were good and the comments inserted into the guide by other users were sometimes essential - when the wording in the online guide was not as clear as it could be. Clever idea to include such comments. I added my own when I thought I could contribute. I also used their online 24/7 chat to get help a couple of times when I could not figure out why I could not get the printer to pass a calibration test. It turned out that i had not noticed that one of bearings had slipped out of position. Only thing negative I can think of is that the power cord did not fit very well and could become loose - which would turn the printer off! Fortunately, I had a compatible cord from an old computer and it fits perfectly. I guess I could have tried filing their plug down so it would fit better but easier to just swap cables. I have now printed a number of things starting with the easy to use PLA filament. My first try with the TPU (FLEX) filament was not so good but they do warn you of possible difficulties with that kind of filament.

Most Excellent 3D Printer
This is simply the best open designn 3D printer available. When purchased as a kit it gives you the opportunity to understand how the system is designed and how to best tune and adjust it over time. There are lower cost 3D printers, but their accuracy and consistency will not match this printer. If you do not take your time and you rush through the assembly of the kit, you would probably be better off buying the fully assembled printer. The more careful and meticulous you are in the assembly, the better the performance of the finished printer will be. There is a wonderful set of videos available online in addition to the printed instructions. I would strongly recommend using the videos to complement the printed instructions. The printer is packaged securely in it's shipping box and has everything that you will need in the box, including Prusa's inclusion of a bag of gummy bears, to serve as your reward for completing the assembly. If build quality and accuracy of printing matter to you, this is the 3D printer to choose.

Buy Now, Good Buy
An absolute good buy. Took about two weeks to assemble in my spare time. Directions are great! Machine works very well, would buy again in a heartbeat. I cannot say enough positive things about the machine. Fun to assemble, fun to use and make different things for the grandkids. Also make odd ball parts for everyday living. Fun machine.

Be mechanically inclined if you buy the kit.
This is a great product. I would suggest to be very patient and carefully read assembly instructions if you get the kit. The belt tuning (tension) app didn't work for me, but it's not necessary.

Very great detail
Very nice printer. It takes a lot of time to assemble but once you are done it prints very nicely.

A lovely first 3D printer
I bought this after seeing it on Amazon Prime Day, 720 after fees which i feel is a great price for this printer! I received the printer kit on July 13th at night so I didn't start assembly until the following day, the instructions are very well written and it took me about 2 days of working on it(maybe like 14 hours or so)since I was also watching Netflix. I didn't have any issues at all during assembly, it was actually pretty fun looking back at it now and I would totally do it again. The guide includes comments from other users as well and they may be helpful to you on that particular step. Just take your time and read the directions clearly and you shouldn't have any issues. After getting it assembled I printed the prusa keychain and it came out great! As of 7/22 I already have 3 days 14 hours on the printer so I am loving it! My dishwasher was missing a clip for the top dish rack and I already printed a replacement for it. Overall I am really satisfied with the printer and have already ordered the MMU3 for multicolor prints.

Well... I happy but missing parts please read
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wanted a second Prusa I already own an MK3S and I love it! So why not an MK4S. Unfortunately the kit was missing the trapazoid nuts. They where not in the motor box 🙄. Anyways I reached to Amazon they suggested I ship the whole thing back and exchange it. I think thats a waste of time for Me, Amazon employees, and Prusa. I just ordered the Nuts. I will say after building this Printer WoW! night and day difference from MK3s. I will say that because this printer is Open source finding parts, it is very easy, and that's why I stick with prusa. And of course the quality 👌 😉 I give the printer it self a 5/5 I give Prusa QC 3/5 for there mistake of not including trapazoid nut. For a total score of 4/5 Update 7/21/2025 LCD died after 3 days 😪 I will contact Prusa directly Guess I will get to review support now. So product review is now 1 star.

3D printing workhorse
Great to build and use for kids, can be assembled in a day with a lot of fun. Works fine right after assembling. Different brands of PETG and PLA filament from Prusa, Bambu Lab, and Esun print well even with generic profiles, while extrusion multiplier and bed temperature tuning according to ambient humidity and temperature are beneficial for accuracy to print miniatures. Very durable build and can be moved by the top of the frame. Surprisingly quiet even for a live room. Part cooling is fantastic while still very silent. Prusa Slicer integration (i.e. Prusa Connect) and iOS/Android mobile app with cloud slicer (i.e. EasyPrint) just work too. And it actually costs about the same as a cheap Chinese 3D printer like the Ender 2 v2 with a replaced extruder, powerful full-metal hotend, linear rails, quality Z axes, a custom cooling system, RPI Zero W2 with Klipper, etc.
