Does all the more expensive carriers do for less
I bought this carrier to transport two Actbest Mars ebikes. It is very sturdy and the anti-wobble bolt works great. I installed a 2" receiver on my 2015 Equinox and it supports the carrier and bike well. The only concern is the upright bars that brace the bikes under the seat, extend past the sides of the vehicle when down in the stowed position. I position them towards the vehicle and so far, this reduces the chance of hitting something beside the vehicle. It is a little heavy but manageable with one person. The 200 pound capacity is well within the requirements for my bikes and I remove the batteries during transport. The bikes are incredibly easy to load with the ramp and the straps provided hold them in place well. The rack folds easily and I like how it fits snugly against the vehicle. Some have told me this rack has the same features as more expensive ones, and based on my experience with the rack I am very pleased with how the bikes fit on the rack and its overall performance. I think it is a great value for the money and would recommend it.

Quality made and Very stable bike rack hitch that is simple to use
We attached this to out new suv to carry our 2 electric bikes on our family road trip to Florida. We drove 1500 miles each way with this bike rack hitch. the rack is made so solid and with great stability, our 2 somewhat heavy Ebikes didn't wiggle or anything at all the whole trip, they were completely secured on while traveling a total of 3,000 miles. Easy to assemble and only one person needed to hook up bike rack hitch to our vehicle witin a few minutes. Also only takes a couple minutes to put 2 bikes on and off. Such an simple and easy way to travel with bikes. Great quality for reasonable price.

Good rack but assembly has some stumbling blocks.
Once you have this built, it’s fairly sturdy and seems durable. It’s the assembly process that’s confusing. The instructions are vague, likely having been translated by a non-english speaker or, perish the thought, AI. The parts list is and the assembly illustrations are inaccurate and hard to follow. What could have been completed in 30 minutes took over an hour. My only gripes with the design are: 1) the hole in the bar that enters the hitch receiver is threaded and takes a special bolt which is provided. This really slows the installation process. 2) The block that butts against the rear tire will not lock in place. Poor design. The bike rack is, however, reasonably priced. You could fairly compare it to those in the $300 - $400 range. Worth it? Probably. By the way, buy the ramp!

Safe, capable carrier
This Young carrier is designed for heavy duty ebike hauling. It unpacked a few lockwashers and one screw missing. Luckily I had those, but everyone might not. The instructions are somewhat vague, but I managed to get it assembled correctly the first time. The fit to my hitch is great, leaving plenty of room between the bike and SUV I use for hauling . The complaints about bolt location at the carrier/hitch connection point, I overcame by using a short extension, which provides another pin hole which can be used for a locking pin. The foldability works flawlessly, aided by the handle. And the extra bolt that prevents accidental tilts, is great. I thought the price provided excellent value for a top end carrier. If stored in the folded position using the photos in the instructions, all parts are secured and won't bang into your vehicle. It's a little heavy, but still easily popped into the receiver. The best option for step-thru frames.

Odd design choices, poor quality control, good customer service
I'll start with the good. It seems to be capable of securing and hauling e-bikes well enough but a few tweaks would make it a lot better. I really like that it's easy(ish) to lift the rack up vertically so it's out of the way and back down to put bikes on it. And if you're strong enough, you can put the rack with the bikes on it down further to open a hatch. Lifting all that weight back up will be a challenge for some. The sliding wheel chocks is easy to do and they latch in place, which is also great! The plastic ratcheting straps function well but double check that the nuts and bolts that hold them onto the rack itself are tight enough to not fall off when driving. A couple of mine were not even finger tight and would have absolutely come off. I had an issue with a bent bar on my original order but customer service was great and sent a replacement! (I added a star to my original review score for that) DESIGN SUGGESTIONS *Adding a way to store the ramp *Being able to rotate the mechanism that attaches to the bike seat post would be helpful. Otherwise you have to remove that piece, find a place for it, load the bike, and put the piece back on. Otherwise it will be in the way. And it's not the easiest to remove as with mine at least, it gets caught on the end cap. *Adding a small notch so the rack pin (that allows the rack to go up and down) can easily rest in the "out" position would be a minor adjustment but a helpful add. *Reduce the number of tools needed. A simple change would be standardizing some of the nuts / bolt sizes. *The oblong slots where the bike channels sit on the frame should just be holes that the bolts go through. There's little to no reason they need to be open ended. If the nuts get loose (sure, always tighten and recheck), but if they get loose and start to slide, there's nothing stopping it from coming apart. If it were just a hole, at least the bolts wouldn't be able to slide out horizontally. You'd still have to worry about the nuts coming out all the way but it would require both. Far better insurance than the current design. QUALITY CONTROL *The round tubes that the swinging arms go into are not welded all the way around. And maybe they don't need to be but it looks like a great spot for rust to form. *The nuts that hold the release lever for folding and unfolding the rack we're not even finger tight. *Several spots were scraped up when I received it. Possibly damaged in shipping, so maybe better packaging? *Instructions are vague and the images aren't consistent. For instance after you add the seat post attachment mechanism, the next image no longer shows them. Not a huge deal but it was confusing.

Worked ok for a few hauls then cracked!!
This carrier worked well for a short period of time. After hauling my electric bikes approximately 6-8 times the upright mount has begun to crack. Do not believe it will be much good from here on. Scared to put e-bikes on it anymore. Only 6 months old.

This rack seemed great on paper, but that changed once I actually started using it. The clips that hold the straps have fallen off while driving, I’ve already lost three, making the rack basically unusable now. The folding handle on the hitch is also frustratingly finicky and has pinched my fingers more times than I’d like. On top of that, the stabilizing bar sticks out past my car, and people keep hitting their shins on it when they walk by. It feels like this rack was something that was engineered well in theory but never properly tested in real-world conditions.

I had another brand before this one that was recalled so I was spoiled by its good design. I find this one very heavy, hard to get on and off the vehicle, and awkward to store. On the up side, I'm sure it will hold my two ebikes very well in the Spring when I can use it. Update: put the hitch on my car. Had a heck of a time tightening the threaded bolt after mounting the hitch on the car. Ended up removing the main part of the hitch and leaving only the folding tube part so I could more easily wiggle it around to get the bolt to screw in. Wouldn't go in. My son suggested I try the other side. That worked. This carrier is not meant to come off the car once you put it on. I will have to take the main hitch part off when I am not using it and leave the folding tube in the hitch receiver as I want to be able to easily get into my hatch back and don't want to haul around that extra weight all the time. This hitch needs a serious redesign to allow easy mounting and removal. I'll keep it, but was sorely tempted to return it! Once I put the bikes on the rack after an hour of messing with it, they seem to be on safely and in a sturdy and secure manner.

Très solide, un peu lourd. Bon rapport qualité/prix.

If your bikes weigh between 140 and 200 pounds together without the batteries and that you will use the support at least on an SUV, go ahead and buy this rack, it should do the job. If your bikes weigh less than 140 pounds together, and you drive a car or a small SUV, try to find something lighter. The two posts (to hold the bikes upright) are effectively extending about 6 inches farther than the rack when folded and therefore will protrude on both side of most vehicules which is a bit annoying. However they can be cut to lenght. All in all a good rack at a very reasonable price if this is what you need. Marc
