Very Good Stainless Steel Mix; Heavy, Shiny, Cleans Easy
I've found it very difficult to find good quality stainless steel pots and pans. They aren't all created equally and crafting one requires highly skilled metallurgy. I knew I was in for a treat when I cooked my first meal in this pan. When I was done, I flipped it around and there were no signs of burnt stainless steel. I've owned expensive pots that start turning black from the very first use. I am happy to say this product has yet to show these signs. I really like how heavy this pan is. The weight helps to distribute the force on the stove which allows for good and even heat conduction. The lid fits well and has a vent on top. You can steam veggies in this pan without any issues. After completing my meals with this pan, I found it no trouble at all cleaning it. It cleans like a dream and it is safe to use steel wool on. Overall, if you are looking for a good set of pans, I would recommending giving this brand a try. The stainless steel is shiny, attractive and contains no 'forever' chemicals. I highly recommend this product.

Pure stainless steel cookware suitable for all stoves including induction. Horrible lid handle.
The Essentials line is T-Fal's bargain product. The base is not as thick as better stainless competitors, which will cause uneven cooking if used incorrectly. Better products can handle up to 500F, but this is limited to 350F. Stainless steel can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s incredibly rewarding to cook with. Unlike Teflon (or similar) nonstick pans, which can lose their coating over time and release potential toxins if overheated and if the surface gets scratched, stainless steel will pretty much last a lifetime if properly cared for. You also need to preheat the pan with oil or butter because even the best stainless does not heat up evenly; the base on this product is quite thin, so this is a larger concern with it. However, you cannot damage it with metal utensils or steel wool like you would with most non-stick (including ceramic-coated). And don't use it as you would a pan coated with Teflon. However, as another reviewer pointed out, the handle on the lid is an extremely poor design. There's not much of a dimple that is used to grasp it. I feel like using Vice-Grips on it. This $20 light duty pan should serve you well if used as recommended. My rating system: 5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park. A great value! 4 Stars = Excellent product. A solid buy. 3 Stars = It provides some value, but perhaps not as advertised. 2 Stars = A little dubious, so do your research. Read the critical reviews! 1 Star = Avoid this product and look elsewhere.

Great Pan
I've been extremely pleased with this pan, I've grown very tired of dealing with replacing nonstick pans so I've switched to mostly using stainless with the nonstick around for when it's needed, and this saute pan has been a blessing for my change. I cook with my stove nearly every day and having good reliable pans is so underrated these days, it's always better to buy a nice pan that will last and last then to constantly replace subpar ones. So with that in mind I couldn't recommend this pan more, this is one of those pans that will be a work horse in your kitchen for years to come and will let you feed yourself and your family without worry of harmful chemicals from scratched coatings.

heavy duty sauce pan
This pan has a nice bottom and it's build heavy to allow induction cooking. The pan has a good weight on it as it needs the plate for induction contact. Boils water in minutes and its oven safe. I love the stainless steel properties and works great as a sauce pan or just cooking small meals.

Lovely pan, really dumb lid design
T-fal is a good brand, and I've been happy with the several pans I have owned over the years. This tall-sided saute pan is different from any pan I own, and I think it will be really useful. It's induction ready, which I was looking for. The quality of the stainless steel seems good, and I like the pan a lot. However...whoever designed the lid has apparently never entered a kitchen. First of all, it's a big, heavy glass lid, so has an inherent risk of breakage. But the handle they put on the lid is nothing short of diabolical, or a really inexcusable miscalculation. It's straight up, with a minimal smooth dimple on one side only (a barely indendeted stamp of the logo on the other side), so that if your hands are wet, and/or if you don't have the grip strength of Popeye, you are going to drop this heavy glass lid on the first use and break it. See the picture. The lid is a huge part of the utility of the pan, so I'm going to be really, really unhappy when I drop and break it, which probably won't be long. It's a beautiful pan, but this lid is a very serious drawback, and needs to be redesigned. My only other gripe is that the pan and lid handles are plastic, which means it's not really suitable for use in the oven (although they say it's good up to 350 degrees, that's not really very high heat, and I'm not a fan of baking plastic anyway, as it will no doubt emit fumes and become weak and brittle). So just think about these issues before you buy this pan...
