Great for certain types of exercise
This shoe design has been around for sometime. I like using them for my squatting and deadlift workouts. These shoes weigh ounces and allow you to feel connected to the ground.

Best all-around Vibram so far?
I've been wearing nothing but Vibram Five Finger shoes for about 5 years now (since back when people asked me if I was wearing some kind of weird water shoes), and have had at some point or another the majority of the entire men's line. That being said, these are possibly my new favorite. For me, the most important factor is being as minimal as possible without going entirely barefoot and having to worry about scraping up my feet on glass, sharp rocks, etc.I wear Vibrams for casual use, working out, running (road and trails), hiking, and everything else I do, and I recommend them to all of my clients (I am a personal trainer and own a wellness center) - but it is extremely important for people that are new to such minimalist shoes to take it VERY slow when first re-acclimating your feet and entire body to less cushion, less support, and new movement patterns. Now as far as the KSO Evo specifically, this shoes seems to do a better job than any other before it in terms of getting as close as possible to being barefoot while still maintaining a great fit. The EL-X is extremely similar to the KSO Evo, but the fit is very awkward in the heel for many people and also very tight in the in-step (I personally had both issues and this was the only pair of Vibrams I ever had to send back because no size fit properly). In the KSO Evo they kept the light and thin structure that drew me to the EL-X, but corrected the weird heel and added a lace system that allows you to adjust the fit but still not have to tie it every time you put them on (set it once in the beginning and it should be good to go).The only thing that I probably won't use these for is hiking in rough terrain, for that I will probably stick to my KSO Trek's or TrekSports that have a slightly thicker and stronger sole and a stronger/heavier upper material that is less likely to tear. This isn't a knock at all on the KSO Evo, it's just not what the shoe was designed for, though I'm sure it could still hold its own if you don't have the ones made for this. The only negative I can possibly say is that the material on these makes my feet sweat more than any of my other Vibrams, but compared to the positives I can live with that. This is also likely to change once I've had time to break them in and they aren't squeezing as much on my feet.EDIT: One additional comment - I normally wear a size 43, but in this shoe the 43 was way too small and the 44 fit perfectly, so I assume they run a bit small.

but paid attention to the exact size and am pleased to say they fit perfectly and are comfortable
Full disclosure: I haven't run in these yet, so I may need to re-write my review after I do. I am a huge fan of barefoot beach running and am off to Playa next week. Last year I chewed my feet up on the hot sand - and by the end of the week I was wrapping my feet in surgical tape. And although I didn't have an issue with this time, I was worried about glass and other beach debris cutting my feet.I ordered these with every expectation that they wouldn't fit, but paid attention to the exact size and am pleased to say they fit perfectly and are comfortable. No support whatsoever, they just provide a rubber sole for your bare feet. Will update you when I run in them. One final thought - my little toes are kind of bent. So I do have to work my toes into the right 'toe hole'. But once they are in, they seem secure and comfy.

I keep buying them!
I work alot and I get them dirty so I go through 2-3 pairs a year but so worth it. First day or two is tough breaking them in but I love it.

Huge tear and unusable after only 8 months
I saw other reviews warning about this issue, but decided to pull the trigger anyway. Without any unusual events occurring to the shoe, the shoe tore and is now unusable after only 8 months. This would make sense to me if Vibrams were $30 shoes, but for a $100+ product, I won’t be purchasing again.

My old FiveFinger swim shoes reached their life expectancy lol so I needed and wanted a new pair. Vibram hasnt been great with style, but these actually were perfect. Still not the best shoe to walk on uneven pavement or rocks, you will definitely stress over the amount of sand that gets in them, and they take some time to dry. They are very lightweight. I believe with the new five finger toe shoe competition, the price is a little high. They havent changed their prices since they first began to gain popularity. I also did sustain a cut in between my toes that was caused by the material on the shoe. For that I must say I was disappointed. Especially being in another country with this injury.
