I bought this fire ladder for the upper story location in my home. This is a solid and study product and I hope I never have to use it but in the event of a fire and I'm trapped in the upper level I have great confidence in this product.

For emergency use only, but heavy and difficult to manage folding and storing compactly.

i used it for a hand hole hand digging 61 feet deep granite rock material to enter and exit along with other safty equipment 24 inch diamiter hole just enough clearance worked out well

Both of our guest BRs are upstairs and we finally ordered the flexible escape ladders for each room. I am much more comfortable now when guests spend the night, knowing they have a legitimate escape option from upstairs. Our house has just one set of stairs going that way, and any fire near the bottom would block their escape. These flexible ladders fit the molding on our windows just right, and they have plenty of width to accommodate most any size foot. Hopefully, we'll never have to use them, but we now have them and they are in place.

While I hope that I never need to use this in an emergency, I'm glad that I purchased it and have it in my 2nd story rooms. The unit itself seems sturdy and well made. While I have not tried to climb out of the house with it, it seems up for the task.

Nice to know my kids can get out of our 23+' high second story.
