UPDATE (March 7, 2023): We recently wanted to learn the American version of Mahjong. This set includes the 144 base tiles, but lacks the 8 required Joker tiles. After inquiring about how to obtain a set of them for our game, the seller sent the Joker tiles FREE OF CHARGE (only had to pay a small shipping fee). We received them last week and they are a perfect match to our existing set, so our American version games are ready to begin! Truly amazing service.ORIGINAL REVIEW: LOVE this set of Mahjong tiles! Large, heavy, high quality, vivid colors, and all tiles are numbered for ease of players who are new to the game. Note that these tiles are significantly larger than the popular Li sets sold on Amazon, which I also ordered but ultimately returned. This set is unquestionably the best value for the dollar among all the sets I considered. I do, however, have two nits to pick: (1) The quality of the trays that hold the tiles inside the case could be better. They are nothing more than cloth covered cardboard - and the corners of mine split almost immediately due to the weight of the tiles. (2) The enclosed instruction book is essentially useless for anyone who hasn't played Mahjong before. It is both unintelligible and incomplete. Since game rules differ depending on which version of Mahjong you want to play, I would recommend first deciding which version you are going to play (e.g., Chinese, American, etc.). Once you've made that determination, then pick up a separate rule book for that specific version. Overall, though, I am absolutely delighted with my purchase and would highly recommend this product.

The pieces are sturdy and top quality. Some people have had issues with the box (which I didn’t really care about) but my mine showed up in perfect condition.I bought the Chinese version and had an afterthought to get the joker tiles so I had the option to play American Mahjong. I reached out to the company and not only were they immediately responsive but they are sending me the tiles. (I had to pay shipping which wasn’t much.)Hands down, this is the best value for money if you want large tiles with numbering in English. I checked Temu, AliExpress, and SHEIN as well as other sellers on Amazon which were all more expensive.

This is my first Mahjong set, so what do I know? But I like the feel of the tiles. They are weighty, smooth, and solid. The symbols are molded into the tiles as well as clearly printed. No smudgy images. They come in a nice case with trays that seem a little flimsy. Time will tell how they hold up, but the case itself seems like it will last. The colored chips are lightweight and a bit cheesy; I was expecting something more like a poker chip. The instructions were okay, but left me with several questions. I think I will have to consult other sources to learn how to play. Overall, I feel like I got my money's worth and I look forward to learning to play this ancient game.

Love the tiles, very nicely made. The outer boxes are a little roughed up, torn on sides. I also reached out to the manufacturer to try to get the jokers, with no luck. Hope they reach out to me. Nice set.

I had bought this mahjong set because my friends and I were learning how to play Chinese Mahjong. We’ve had a lot of fun with it and it is a beautiful set. The tiles are large, and very sturdy, and were exactly what we were looking for. They are just beautiful. Recently we have been learning how to play American Mahjong which uses joker tiles. This set is Chinese mahjong and doesn’t have joker tiles. I knew this when I bought it as we were not learning the American version at the time of purchase. Bit, I ended up needing the joker tiles. So I reached out to the seller and asked if there was any way to purchase Joker tiles. I received a response within just a couple hours. The person I communicated with was so helpful, and so responsive. They sent me a set of joker tiles for free, and I didn’t even have to pay shipping. They were so helpful and accommodating. So incredibly responsive. I am so happy with this set.

Very happy with this set. Numbers are helpful. Tiles are larger than typical sets. The trays and case could be stronger, but not too bad. Two family members ordered the same item after using ours!

Bought it for my grandma and she loves it! She plays it often with my aunt. The Chinese characters are big and the numbers and letters help my siblings who can't read Chinese. Great quality tiles!
