Great iron and great customer service Thoroughly recommended
This is a great iron, yes it’s expensive but I feel easy use and professional results are worth the price. I would 100% recommend this iron and the customer service is excellent. I bought my iron May 2019 and it recently had a problem. I rang the company and was told they’d pick up iron from my house in a few days. I received iron back like new a few short days later. No fuss, no pleading with them to repair the crack in the iron, etc, etc, no awkward questions just prompt, helpful customer service. I’m very impressed with the company.

Amazing but broke after 4 years
I bought this in 2021. It was amazing. Very strong steam power lightweight overall. The problem is that the steam hundle doesn't work anymore and you cant find official Polti center in UK. So for now I will go back to steam iron cause I am not willing to give the same money for this.

Looks great and irons well
I think this iron is great! Reading some of the other reviews it seems that you can take the 10 year cover with a pinch of salt, that’s what I will be doing. I picked this up for under £250 and having used it a few times I can say it really is worth the money. Ironing my shirts is a breeze and now takes half the one it did before. My only gripe is that the power cord for the wall to the iron is not long enough, it feels like Polti know this because they have a special pullout tray you can use to bring the actual iron closer. So the inventiveness of the solution in my mind means this is a 5 star product! Now let’s see if it stands the test of time!

Broke after 2.5 years - refused to honour warranty.
Update Dec 2022. I bought a Tefal Pro Express in Feb ‘22 & it’s been brilliant - much better than the Polti. UPDATE August 2022 READ ALL THe TRUSTPILOT REVIEWS OF HUGE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS THAT HAD SAME PROBLEM AS ME / NOT HONOURING WARRANTY. After months of them fobbing me off I was finally given a phone number to ring. I range the phone number. They said send photos of fault. I took photos of fault. Incredibly they are now refusing to cover warranty because cover has been removed… which I had to blinking do in order to send photo of fault. Bad behaviour from this company. Why offer a warranty that you will then do anything to wriggle out of, even when there is a CLEAR fault. I’m incensed. What a flipping waste of money & time Polti has been. UPDATE March 2022: My machine suddenly made a new noise & steam escaping from one side / it has sprung a leak. I have cared for the machine perfectly, including avoiding limescale & never dropped etc. I am bitterly disappointed as I paid extra for what I was hoping would be a product that would last 10yrs. I hate manufacturers not making quality anymore, especially when you’ve paid a very pretty penny. So annoyed. Update;: I couldn’t find a registered UK Polti repair shop to take my repair, so I took off the plastic cover - a hole has developed in the boiler section. See photo attached. I have emailed Polti as this should be covered under the 10yr limescale guarantee - I will update this review once I’ve heard back from Polti customer services. OLD REVIEW: So I sent back the 7bar & bought this 7.5bar on sale for £280. The extra 0.5 bar makes a big difference. Irons heavy cottons & linens easily (that other irons have failed at being able to do). Negative / annoyance The highest temp setting times out & you have to wait for it heat up again (same gripe with the XM80R). The blue light on the iron doesn’t change colour or make a warning sound - you just notice it is not working as well & when you look at the dial on the main body of the machine it has automatically turned itself down without letting you know. The ongoing cost of buying Kalstop water softener needs to be factored in to the lifetime cost of the machine. Thanks to other reviewer’s idea of using eye dropper bottle to just add 4-5 drops when you refill the tank. I’ve emailed Polti to suggest they do this as it would also get rid of excessive plastic packaging.

So far, So Polti
This is my second Polti steam generator iron in 15 years. If this one lasts as long as the other one, I'll be VERY happy. It's still early days, and so far it's taken me a couple uses to get used to it because I actually liked the heavier weight of the old one which also had continuous steam - not that I used it often. The one thing I'm going to have to get used to is the fact that when ironing, the steam intermittently stops for a few seconds as if to power up again. Considering this is a 7.5 bar compared to my old 5 bar iron, I'm not sure why. It's not a deal breaker though and I'm sure I'll get used to it. It does make a kind of generator noise occasionally, but I'm familiar with the noise because of the Polti carpet cleaner I have, and I just assume that this is the tank re-pressurising. Who knows, I'm no engineer though :-). The tank is big - I mean physically bigger than my old one though I think they both hold the same amount of water - but, I LOVE that I don't have to wait for the pressure to go down before refilling, meaning that you can just continue ironing for however long it takes without needing to take a break. Also, the time it takes for the tank to pressurise and you can start ironing ... my old one used to take about 10 minutes. This one takes 2 minute! I no longer have to put the iron on and go shower before ironing one item! If you've ever owned a Polti, you know how annoying this can be, let alone the electricity you burn to iron ONE top! Finally, PRICE: At the time of writing this review, the La Vaporella XT100C is £70 more on the Polti website. So whilst there are a few things that would have made my new purchase perfect, it still deserves 5 stars.

Did a good job, but didn't last 2 years
Quiet and easy to use appears very efficient with water usage. Doesn't flood the ironing board and floor as previous Philips product did. Shame it's not lasted 2 years.

Nice design, very practical & effective
Polti is a well known product for quality steam generators. They certainly do not let themselves down with this very good iron.
