Great cage for a dwarf hamster with some tweaking
I bought this cage for my 11 year old daughter because she wanted a dwarf hamster. This cage is the perfect size. It was easy to put together, just make sure you have it on a level surface so that when you put it together, the lid sits snugly on top. The hamster escaped the first day and I'm not sure if it climbed out the top or if it fit through the ventilation holes on the side. I ended up putting a piece of window screen I had laying around and using thumb tacks to keep it in place just in case. You can see that in the photos. I also plan on getting a locking mechanism to keep the lid from getting pushed up accidentally. It's been a few weeks and she hasn't escaped again. Overall it's sturdy wood, the plexy glass is nice you can see clearly in. The hamster has been digging tunnels all through the bedding and having a blast. My only problem was the ventilation holes being large for a dwarf hamster to squeeze through and also I feel like it was on the expensive side for what it is.

Satisfied is what I expected.
This is the best hamster cage ever. Our hamster got out of every other cage we tried. We were getting discouraged because our hamster got out and got stuck in the walls of our house on multiple occassions. This is the safest cage. She cant chew through it. It is easy to clean and she has lots of room to explore. Very happy with this product!

Would not buy again
Because it does not have a liner or anything, urine does soak in where the hamster likes to sleep the most. Nothing we can do and the urine soaks the bedding which now stained the floor. She tries to chew on the edge of the raised area and really enjoys that. Not sure how long this will last and it was pricey. Additionally, I had to go find 1/2” chicken wire to go over the top and the little windows so she does not get her head stuck. I had to individually wire it together for safety. Also no latches to keep it closed LOL. We had to go buy those at Lowe’s and install on both sides. It looks nice but I am hoping it even lasts 6 months. Oh! It also says it is for Syrian Hamsters which is what we want. We were told at multiple stores that it is too small for a Syrian and should only house 1 dwarf hamster or winter white. Just sort of disappointing across the board.

Buy Something better
The plexi glass shakes to much and the wood isn’t put together right and we had several broken and cracked pieces that they already tried to opoxy to fix and it looks like crap. Very disappointed for the price! This company doesn’t even know that wood grain is suppose to alternate. This is put together joining with the same direction making it bow. Needs to be in the $50 range for the quality.

Horrible case definitely don't buy.
Horrible case I wouldn't ever recommend to anyone. It's so small and not enough for a hamster also the little plot for them restricts the amount of bedding you need another thing is this was the cage that held my hamsters last days. He didn't die of old age or poisoning. He died from the cage he got his head stuck on the wires and we decided he needed a new cage then but before we got another he got his head stuck again and in an attempt to get unstuck he moved his body forward out of the cage and suffocated. His body was hanging and he wasn't breathing. DONT BUY THIS CAGE.

Easy to assemble and clean
This large wooden pet enclosure says it's for most small animals including rats, hamsters, guinea pigs and bunnies but it is certainly not large enough to keep a bunny or probably not even a guinea pig in.We have one bunny and a pet rat and while I'm not comfortable containing the bunny in it, it is PERFECT for our rat!!!!Plenty of room, no bars to get stuck in (we've had her injure her tail that way before!) and a beautiful clear view of your fuzzy friend even when they're put up.Rats enjoy lots of space and even though this is pretty large I will say if you don't allow your rat to free roam as well, or have a larger enclosure then this may still not be adequate space to keep them happy but ours spends most of the night in it and is fine.MUCH more pleasing to look at than a big wire cage and will look much nicer set up in your living room than most cages and habitats do. My husband even ran some soft LED lights along the edge and it makes a beautiful addition to our living room! Not sure if it is because of the natural wood materials it's made of but it also seems like our rat is much happier and more secure with this as her primary habitat. She has always been very playful and snuggly out of the cage but usually pretty lethargic when caged up, but after moving her to this she is very playful and constantly exploring and burrowing and just being a rat so I think she likes it a lot better which makes us happy and it's fun to watch her mess around so I love the unobstructed view this offers. So far no real issues with chewing. She is very good at chewing her way out of just about anything but so far this has held up well! The wood itself is very sturdy and durable feeling and seems solid enough to last. Our rat is potty trained as odd as that sounds, and has a little box she usually goes to the bathroom in, a small one for in her cage and a larger one for when she is roaming the house and uses these boxes at least a good 75% of the time, but for less intelligent or more stubborn animals I was a bit worried about the wood absorbing urine and holding in the odor. Not sure if this would be an issue or if the treating of the wood prevents moisture absorption. It wasn't hard at all to assemble and comes with detailed instructions but it did arrive disassembled so be prepared to set it up before having a cozy new home for your buddy.Overall this would be the perfect home for mice, hamsters, gerbils or other small rodents, and is great as a more confined enclosure part time for rats but I wouldn't recommend it for any larger pets.Highly highly recommend for smaller critters though! The perfect safe and aesthetically pleasing habitat for them!
