Great bourbon
This is one of the best Bourbon's I've had. It's smoothness belies it's strength, being surprisingly easy to drink neat. It's packed full of classic bourbon flavours without any of them being too overpowering. If it's on sale it's great value as a little goes a long way.

A proper beast of a bourbon — big, bold, and stupidly good value for barrel proof
Rare Breed is one of those bottles that reminds you why Wild Turkey has such a cult following. First pour hits you with that “yep, this is barrel proof” punch on the nose — caramel, spice, a bit of orange peel, and that classic Turkey funk lurking underneath. At 58.4%, you expect it to blow your eyebrows off, but it’s way more balanced than it has any right to be. First sip… warm rush straight away, but not harsh. Sweetness comes in fast — dark caramel, a bit of honey, then it flips into spice and toasted oak. There’s a chewy, full-bodied feel to it that makes you slow down without thinking about it. Add a couple drops of water and it opens up even more: more vanilla, more citrus, more of that Wild Turkey depth. The finish? Long. Like long. Peppery oak, a bit of tobacco, then this lingering sweetness that keeps you going back for another sip even though you promised yourself you’d “only pour a small one tonight.” What makes it ridiculous is the price. Barrel proof bourbon that tastes like this usually sits way higher. For around £55 — in a gift box, no less — it’s honestly one of the best-value high-proof bourbons you can get in the UK. If you like big flavour, proper heat, and a bottle that doesn’t mess about, Rare Breed is always a winner. One of those bourbons that never disappoints.

Heaven in a glass.
I bought this over a year ago to celebrate my forthcoming 60th birthday. I caught covid a few days before my birthday but no way was I waiting any longer to try it, sadly my taste and smell had almost gone. So here we are a few days later covid free and though my taste and smell is not fully back to normal I can actually appreciate this wonderful bourbon. It would be unfair to judge the nose but the taste is intensely flavourful I had to add a few drops of water because of the high abv. Left to stand for at least 20mins and I was rewarded with the finest bourbon I have tried. It has a wonderful mouth feel and the taste is like Wild Turkey 101 ramped up to a completely different level. Is it worth the difference in price, absolutely. Whilst 101 is a fine bourbon the Rare Breed is worth it for that special treat, just hope I can make it last.

Cracking Whiskey
This is a really cracking whiskey. something a bit different to my collection. so rich and brings flavors of wood and dark chocolate. really enjoyable, and will put a few hairs on your chest at 58.4% ABV

Quality and Flavour
Has a punch that will catch you off guard if you're not used to it but the bang for your buck is 100%. One bottle lasted me several years and not in a bad way.

Wild Turkey - Rare Breed
As a Wild Turkey fan, Rare Breed is without a doubt a bench mark of a barrel proof offering. If you like 101 then you’ll love this! When compared with Makers Cask Strength and Old Grand Dad 114 this is exceptional value.
