I did not like the bananas but my friend LOVES them. Good for sharing with kids while talking about the Space Program. We used to get various space foods when I was a kid. The berries I thought weren’t bad. My favorite was the Neapolitan ice cream sandwich. I would love to get those on their own! We got Astronaut ice cream in chunks when I was a kid, but this was better!

I have ordered many times. I like the vanilla. Great for a work snack or just a little treat while driving. Extra special if you eat with cold milk. Just a little pricey but....long shelf life, unique snack and versatile. If you like MRES and their convenience, you'll want these.

It tastes good but it is Very unique. A little bit of nostalgia for me and others. I remember getting these when I was a kid in the 1980s and visited the Kennedy space center! Back in the day freeze dried blocks, and soup and cheese in toothpaste tubes were all the astronauts pretty much ate. It is very expensive so it is not something I will be getting at a regular basis or use in my food stockpile but it was a nice treat!

I originally tried freeze dried ice cream as a child a good 45 years ago. While the texture hasn't changed, the price sure has!!! All three of these packs plus were $3 then... Now I gave $35 to taste the nostalgia. I was honestly a bit disappointed. It said it was a banana split. So, I thought I was getting both strawberry as well as banana ice cream, and the Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches. Yet I received dehydrated strawberries and bananas. I'd love to have more of the bananas! They were out of this world! You could definitely tell the difference between them and regular banana chips. Delicious taste and texture. The strawberries, I really could have done without. Surprisingly, they were full sized strawberries! Very hard on the mouth. (That's just me though. I really was expecting dehydrated strawberry ice cream like I had as a child in California.) The Neapolitan sandwiches were smaller than I thought they would be. While I was disappointed... Since you know now what you are getting, the choice is on you. The product IS good, it just wasn't what I personally expected for the price I paid. Caveat emptor!

My kids were so excited that Santa brought them astronaut food! I will say that the bananas weren’t a hit (I thought they were great!) but I think the look of them was the issue. They both refused to try them. Strawberries were a massive hit though. My son ate the whole bag in one sitting! We haven’t tried the ice cream sandwich *yet*!

I wanted to try these just to say that I did. It’s fun if you’re with your family or a group of ppl to all try them together. I wouldn’t purchase them again. They are a one time type of purchase just to have fun and try. I enjoyed trying them with my family.

Value for money

I thought I would give these a try for my upcoming JMT thru-hike this summer ... it would be nice to have a treat at the end of a long day of hiking. This item is not worth the money ... little flavor and dry. There are much better options at a lower cost.
