Great reliable cake mixer
I had a Kitchenaid Artisan mixer but it just didn't cut it for cakes. It was also very difficult to see the batter or add ingredients. I had a Sunbeam mixer for 40 years, so it is good to have an old friend back in my kitchen. This mixer does an amazing job on cake batter and most other batters also. I love that I can scrape down the bowl and see how the batter is shaping up. I love that I can now add ingredients without stopping the mixer and raising the head to see the batter. The unit is relatively quiet and very moveable, since it is so lightweight. A really good mixer......

An adequate mixer.
Replacement for a long-standing (read: old) Krups hand/stand mixer. This one is stronger/more powerful, but doesn't move back & forth across the bowl as my Krups did, so I have to push the center out to the sides. Handled heavy cookie dough well -- I like the heavy-duty dough hooks. Have had it only a few days and used it only once so far, but I think it will be fine. I do wish I'd purchased a hand/stand mixer instead, but the Sunbeam MixMaster will do well. I take the mixer off the stand to store, as it's too tall to fit into my cabinet all of a piece. All in all, I think it will be a fine mixer for me. Followup: 6 months later, I wish I'd purchased a different mixer. This is heavy, awkward, hard to clean (crevices that are hard to get to). There must be a better solution.

90% of the capability for 1/6 the cost
I have had one several years -- this went to my daughter as a gift. She had a blender -- but no mixer. For mixing any kind of baking project it is perfect -- cakes, cookies, pie dough. It can be lifted from the stand and used as a hand mixer also. When I found she had no mixer I hit the computer buy now button and on the 3rd day we were baking cookies. Mine is 8 or 10 years old and going strong. It does not have all the bells and whistles of the leading mixer-- nor the pricetag. For 1/6 the price it does 90% of the work. Great value buy.

Not a bad choice for its price range
What I like...... Power is adequate, size is good, bowl has tabs to hold it in place when in use. What I don't like....... Too much plastic! Plastic breaks! For the price, it IS a decent mixer. If this is within your price range, I would recommend it.

Great mixer for the price
I bought this for normal baking and especially bread dough. This is not a Kitchenaid, but then again it did not cost hundreds of dollars. I don't bake daily or even weekly, so this is a good mixer for me. I have made one cake and it did a good job and didn't need a lot of scraping dry mix back into the batter. My only criticism in a tiny one, I wish the bowl had a spout to pour from. It's ok without that, but it would be easier. Materials all seem good quality and it also seems stable when working..

Love Love Love
I'm a baker and needed a mixer for my coastal home so I ordered this. Well, to my surprise I love it. It is easy to use and light. No, it doesn't turn itself but my goodness how lazy can you be if you can't give it a few turns!! I have a very expensive one at my other home and yes it turns by itself and I hate it. It's so heavy, I can barely move it and way over priced. I highly recommend the Sunbeam mixer, it's light weight, the price is right and it does a beautiful job.

Burn't in New Berlin
It has been my long understanding that there are certain guidelines and or standards that have been set by amazon.com when it comes to selling a used item, in order to protect the purchaser from receiving items that are unacceptable and or undesireable. The item I received, took a month to arrive, give or take a few days, not to mention that it was filthy dirty, packaged haphazardly, and of course, broken. The stem of the item was caked with dried up leftover, crumbs and dirt and used many times over, bakery mix, as were the other parts. I had to soak the loose beaters, and pry the rest of it off with a knife, only to find out as I was cleaning the removable platform which(Icould not so only to find that the prongs on the one side , had been broken off! These plastic prongs on the one side are used to keep the mixing bowl steady and in place. If I had not been familiar with the product, I wouldn't have noticed it. The broken pieces were not in the box, or the stem base, so they had to be broken off pre-sent. Had the other parts not been made of metal, they would not have survived the mail. Had the mixer been packed by U>P>S> this could have been avoided. This has been my fifth and last experience with amazon.com. ordering a used mixer. I was given the impresion that this was merely a duplicate of one the seller already had and that the original box had been misplaced as this one was a gift. This item is going on Craigs list or given to goodwill, which should have been done in the first place. Efforts to contact seller, who lives in Calif. not been attempted so far.

It's similar to my original Sunbeam (my mom's from the 60's), this one being much lighter in weight and the results are the same. Super happy with it. Highly recommend.

Serves the purpose of making dough. Requires step down converter if you are in India. Have to shell out additional to purchase the same. Durability the steel bowl in not quite stable shakes a lot. For a low cost buy and small beginner level cooking this is apt. Go for higher end models if it's expert level or large scale cooking.

I love my Sunbeam Stand Mixer. Have tried KitchenAide, Betty Crocker, etc. and always come back to the durability and flexibility of Sunbeam. Use it hard and every day and it always performs well and predictably for me.
