Works ok fan was scech kept smell down

I have been growing in a tent for a long time. Usually, you have to get a charcoal filter and some type of air system to push or pull air in/out of the filter. With this filter, you don't have to purchase anything else for air flow. The built-in fan is a great idea. I have a feeling other companies will have similar products soon. I believe this is a game changer. This could help keep set up and maintenance prices lower. I set it up yesterday, the fan pulls way more air than I believe it would. I bought the 4 in size to go in a 18x34x62 grow tent. I currently have it set on the lowest setting possible and it is doing the job well. Was really shocked about that fact. I've had cheaper filtration fans and they had to be on full power and still didn't blow any air. Was easy to hang and install, just plugged in the power supply and was off and running. I really hope that the charcoal filter keeps smells down for a good amount of time. I highly recommend this to people with cost, of set up in mind. Could almost cut down the price by half, for grow tent filtration set up cost. I wish this product was out when I first started growing different plants in side.

What should customers know? This item is not as described. The product info on the page and on the box indicate a 12" carbon filter, but this is actually about 9.5" **There is no builtin-in fan, no speed controller, no 8' of ducting per the description.** Everything in package seemed new and I expect should work okay. But double negatives for being misleading and just plain false -- intentionally it seems. I have purchased carbon filters from other manufacturers that are larger for the same price or less. Size matters here, smaller filters just don't last as long. I would not have purchased this item had I known it was smaller, would have purchased the coupler separately.

Size is a bit misleading. Other filters of this style I have bought list the measurements of the filter itself. EG the 12" filter this is replacing measured 11.8 inches only including the filter portion, not inclusive of the inlet flange. This filter is only 9.5 inches in length not the 11 inches advertised. It is 11 inches if you include the flange so technically not a misrepresentation but a bit misleading. The picture shows this filter on the left, advertised as 11 inches, next to my old filter on the right that was advertised as 12 inches but with an actual measurement of 11.8. A bit annoying but as a filter it works and for my application the loss of airflow and longevity won't be a problem, it only runs every couple weeks and I got 4 years out of the old filter so I can probably expect to get 3 years out of this one. Would recommend the vendor included more detailed measurements in their listing, I think at the price point it is still competitive against the larger filters (25% less in cost when I bought it and only 20% smaller filter size).

This fan and filter system is well made and effective, but is a bit noisy. Not crazy loud, but enough that it sounds like a window fan or AC on "Low." Even at lower speeds (1/2 to 1/3 of maximum). If the 6" model has a larger but lower RPM fan, it may be quieter. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a good starter model and a good value, it just isn't top of the line which is OK for the price point.

AMAZING filter for small tents, packs a huge punch for its value. I have the vivosun T4 and filter in my other tent, this fan is just as quiet, moves as much if not more air, and is about 1/2 the overall size with the integrated fan. Filter cannister is same diameter as the vivosun, and about 2" longer to fir the fan. For smaller tents, like a 24"x24", this is a game changer since its an all-in-one compact size. Other reviews mentioned leaking carbon, so i took it apart and cleaned before using and only found 3 small pellets inside that were floating around. The carbon is contained in a stocking type material and then is caged in the metal housing, so there really isnt much of a chance for it to come out - however i plan to open up the filter after a week or two and check for dust buildup. The only downside of this fan over the vivosun unit is the lack of USB control, which means you cant control it with the GrowHub. In my case, my GrowHub never left speed 1 as the tent never got too hot or too much humidity, so settings this controller to one and leaving it worked exactly the same - however it is nice to have the system be able to increase the speed when needed. Outside of that little downside, the upside is huge given the reduced space, similar sound/speed, and it costing 40% what a vivosun fan/filter combo would cost. I still have to wait and see how long it lasts, but so far its a 5-star all the way!

good buy work just as good top name brands for 4x4 & 2x4(Feet) tent applications

With this budget friendly inline fan I have finally dialed in my temp and humidity. Girls are loving it! Down low it’s not too loud but turned up it sounds like a turbine.
