Great value for a great teapot!
I’m really not sure why there are any bad reviews about this teapot. I ordered it because it was the least expensive option for a true stainless steel pot but to be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect. To my surprise the pot has truly exceeded my expectations. I bought the stainless steel version and it’s exactly what I would expect which is a solid stainless steel pot, a medium gauge stainless, I wouldn’t call it heavy, but definitely a medium gauge pot that’s sturdy secure and constructed from a single piece of stainless meaning no welds where corrosion can develop over time. It boils water quickly and it’s super clean efficient and looks beautiful on our stove. The handle actually stays at a reasonable temp so it can be held without bare hands as long as you’re flame stays under the pot! The only issue I found is that the little spout cover will sometime interfere with the pouring of boiling water so you have to flip it back before you pour and it stays there securely while you’re pouring and allows you to get a clean pour. Also we love the train horn whistle which is somewhat muted, but we are usually in the vicinity of the kitchen while we’re boiling water, which is where you should be whenever you have something in the stove! So for us, it’s not a problem. Other than that it’s outstanding. I love it. My wife loves it, which is a real win for me and I highly recommend it. You can’t get a better value for your money! Ps the size of the pot is actually a 3 L teapot which is a large capacity pot although that’s the total volume of the teapot. Usable is closer to 2L. Lastly if you’re not using filtered water in your teapot you’re doing yourself and the pot a disservice so if you get spotting your water is to blame!

Nice!
Nice little kettle. Off putting at first was the "whistle", now I like it! Whistle doesn't whistle, it sounds like train horn.

Poor functionality
Looks nice but the spout is terrible, water goes everywhere when pouring; handle is hot to the touch; no whistle so you just have to listen for the boil Would not recommend

Good Looks, No Substance
So wanted to love this kettle. Love the sleep design and the matte black. However, when it arrived, I. Priced it was a bit bigger and clunkier than I expected. The sleekness and chicness factor took a small hit. But then when I tried to make tea, and k tried twice, it didn’t whistle (which I need) and then when I went to pour. The water came out splashing all over the place!! It was actually a bit of a hazard with boiling water. Not the quality I expected and was bummed. Returned.

Sturdy construction
The whistle sounds like a distant train. Very soothing. One point of concern is that when I pour the hot water into a cup, the water sometimes comes out around the back of the spout, so be careful of hot accidental spills. Also, be sure that the spout cover is in place. One time, I didn’t notice that the spout cover was flipped back and thus the whistle wouldn’t sound. One other point, I recommend water be left in the kettle if you leave it on the stove’s burner in case the burner is turned on by mistake.

Tea kettle
So i wanted to write a review because it took me so long to choose a tea kettle and I thought I could maybe help somebody else. I chose this tea kettle because it checked a lot of the boxes for me. Here is what I like… I like that it’s brushed stainless steel and not the shiny one, I like that it has a handle that swings down, I like that it makes some sort of sound when it comes to a boil, even though I wish it was a little louder ( this is not a deal breaker for me because i don’t usually leave the kettle unattended i am usually right there in the kitchen doing something else), the handle stays cool so I don’t need a potholder to pour it ( i have a gas stovetop ) because that would be a deal breaker for me, the water pours nicely with the flap up or down unlike what some reviewers said. It heats up just as fast as the tea kettle i was replacing, has no real seam in the bottom but there is a seam about 1/4 way up which most people wouldnt even see. What keeps it from getting 5 stars…It is easy to clean but the lip at the top does prevent you from pouring all of the water out as it gets caught in it and then drips down; i find it is better to pour it all out through the spout and dry the rest. It is definitely not high gauge stainless steel but feels thin and almost tinny. It has somewhat of a metal smell to it but i have a very sensitive nose and regardless it hasnt effected the taste of the tea and I am hoping that will go away with time. It does not look like it will rust and regardless of the thin feel to it, it does seem to be a nice quality kettle. I would say my biggest disappointment is the sound of the “ whistle” but I expected it when i bought it; i am at least satisfied that it makes some sound even though it is very soft. All said and done i do not regret my decision and would buy it again. Update: I have owned the kettle for six months and the outside is stained and looks worn. The handle has loosened and does not stay up well and the little noise that it did make is now sporadic. The Oxo kettle that I replaced after ten years looked newer. All said and done I do regret my decision and would not buy it again

Nice low whistle
Love this teapot. Nice low whistle. Handle doesn’t get scorching hot, although sometimes I will use a hand towel to help hold it. It looks very nice just hanging out on fancy stove.

Great kettle works well. We were all a bit surprised by the sound of the whistle but we are getting used to it.

Base is not magnetic and does not work on induction cooktop. Disappointing as it states that is induction safe.
