Quiet running
Quiet pump, I can barely hear it over the fans and air flow. The app functions well, the heat is very good, overall quality is quite good. The only issues are that there is no fuel level view, unless you open the side. And the fuel inlet is not sealed from the case; I dont know if this is an actual issue, but if there is a bit of a spill, the diesel will run into the case through the space around the cap. Set up is straight forward and easy enough for "non mechanically inclined"

Warmth That Travels With You – Powerful, Portable, and Perfect for Freezing Nights!
I purchased the HCALORY Toolbox 2 Diesel Heater earlier this year, and I’m extremely impressed with its performance and portability. The compact design makes it easy to move and set up wherever needed, and it’s well-built for outdoor and camper use. I tested it during a trip where nighttime temperatures dropped to -5 degrees, and it kept my camper warm and comfortable all night without any issues. The heating output is consistent and efficient, making it perfect for cold-weather adventures. I made a small modification by extending the wiring for the control panel so I could mount it inside my camper. This allowed me to use the thermostat and temperature control mode conveniently from indoors, which worked flawlessly. Overall, this heater delivers excellent value for its price. Reliable, powerful, and portable—highly recommended for anyone needing dependable heat in harsh conditions.

Don’t buy
This is the 4th one I bought. The others lasted about a month before crapping the bed. This one. Error code 10 on start up. Restarted fine. Today with the second start up. White smoke everywhere. Brand new. Worthless product.

Started off with the wrong foot, but still managed to exceed my expectations.
I’ve had an interesting experience with this portable diesel heater, but overall, I’m really impressed with it. My first unit worked great for about 6–7 hours before the pump stopped working. I was using some very old, possibly contaminated diesel, so that might have been the issue. When I tried to return it, I learned it’s non-returnable due to the fuel content. However, Amazon was kind enough to give me a voucher for about 80% of the value, and I decided to order a second unit. Since I already knew the pump was the problem and didn’t want to uninstall everything, I swapped the pump from the new unit to the old one. That solved the issue! The heater has been working flawlessly for about five days now. The swap took me about 1.5 hours since I was figuring things out as I went, but it was surprisingly easy to service. I also contacted the manufacturer, who promised to send a replacement pump. It’s been about 10 days, and I’m still waiting—likely due to shipping from China during the holiday rush. In the meantime, I now have a full set of spare parts from the second unit, so it worked out well! Performance and Features: This heater puts out a ton of heat and is perfect for my needs. I’m using it to warm up a 1,000 sq. ft. space in sub-freezing temperatures, and it keeps the area warm enough to comfortably wear just a shirt. It uses about 1 gallon of diesel per day, which feels very efficient. One of the standout features is the altitude sensor, which adjusts the fuel-to-air ratio based on air pressure. This ensures the cleanest and most efficient burn possible. It’s even sensitive enough to account for normal changes in barometric pressure, which I find impressive. I also measured the exhaust gases, and at max power, the temperature was around 70°C, meaning minimal heat is lost through the combustion exhaust. Very efficient! Setup Tips: I mounted my unit indoors, but the included exhaust pipe was too short, so I had to buy a longer one. You’ll also want an adapter to ensure that the hot exhaust pipe doesn’t touch your walls, as it can get up to 220°C with the included short pipe (but much cooler with a longer one like mine). If noise is an issue, you can mount it outside and pipe the heated air inside, though that setup might require larger holes in your walls and a way to protect the heater from the rain. User Experience: The Bluetooth functionality is fantastic! I can monitor and control the heater from a few rooms away, which is incredibly convenient. It’s a feature I wouldn’t skip. One minor inconvenience is that you can’t easily see how much fuel is left without opening the unit. To fix this, I cut a small opening in the plastic lid to check the tank at a glance—problem solved in 15 minutes. The unit is generally easy to operate and service. There were no leaks, except for one time when I overfilled the tank while it was running. Even then, the risk of fire is minimal since it’s diesel. I haven’t noticed any smell of fumes or fuel indoors. The outside combustion exhaust may have a slight odor during the initial start-up, but once it’s running, the combustion is so efficient that there’s almost no visible exhaust and there's zero smell. Pros and Cons: I love that you can set a specific temperature and let the heater adjust its power or even turn off altogether, all automatically based on room temp. Alternatively, you can manually set a fixed power level. The heater also comes with cables to connect to a 12V battery, though I’ve been running it from a wall outlet with no issues, using the included power adapter. My only complaint is the noise. If you’re using it in a living space, you might want to consider mounting it outside, though that comes with trade-offs in efficiency and bigger holes in your wall. Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a fantastic heater, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. It’s powerful, efficient, and loaded with useful features. For a workspace or emergency heating, it’s perfect for indoor use as long as you vent the exhaust gases properly. Highly recommended!

Versatile and affordable warmth
This little toolbox heater is amazing and puts out some serious warmth. I read some reviews that said it didn't come with the exhaust pipe or muffler but that was incorrect. It came with everything needed. When running the exhaust has no smoke..when starting there will be a little. I did not find the unit excessively loud and it runs great! There's 3 different ways to control it. BT app on your phone, included remote control/thermostat/CO detector, or on the front panel. Also, the front panel controls easily detach and include an extension cord so you can mount it remotely (like on the control panel of a van for example). Two things that could be improved in my opinion. 1.) The diesel exhaust and heat vent are on the same side. It's not a deal breaker or anything but some may find it odd. 2.) When you shut off the unit, it goes through a cooling cycle where the fan blows and cools everything down to prevent damage and melting of things. If the unit was running and all of a sudden lost power it likely could get damaged. It would be pretty cool if there was a built in back up battery to allow safe shutdown. Just something to keep in mind. Overall, I'm impressed with this little guy. Pretty nice to have.

Worked great right out of the box.
Easy setup right out of the box. Didn’t have to do any modifications for instant heat. I’ve used both on and off road diesel with no issues. App works great for Bluetooth operation and plugged into AC using the supplied power supply. Would recommend first start up outside to burn off any assembly oils to prevent smoke or smell inside.

I would not buy again unless they address the leaky exhaust.
I am updating this review: I did massive research on diesel heaters and this one comes the closest to best design and features. Except one major flaw. The exhaust coming from the motor is not sealed. The first unit I bought did not leak until I had had it for over 2 months and burned about 40 gallons of fuel. I got a refund from Amazon and bought a second one. It arrived with the same leaky exhaust and an additional problem of a loud fan that triggered a fault and shut the unit down. I complained to the company this time and they sent me a 3rd unit. That unit has the same problem and now the company has offered to refund my money within 4 or 5 days. I have yet to get it, its only been 3 days so I will update if I do or do not. So far though the seller has been very responsive and I am very satisfied. (except the near death thing, obviously. :/ The company was very responsive and I am very happy with the service. It is very unfortunate as this is the best designed unit and it comes with an app that is very simple and works great and does not ask for any data or permissions at all. It also comes with a CO detector which works well. I am still alive to prove it. I have had 3 EO11 error codes (high CO concentration) and the unit shut itself down. (that by itself is concerning but the unit safety guards worked, If I had asphyxiated I would definitely take off 2 more stars). The bigger problem is: I checked the CO warning to see how many units of CO was detected, it did not register any CO. So I do not know if the gas was present or not but it turned off so I'm alive but cold. Amazon gave me a full refund and I bought a 2nd unit as I figured it was a one off problem as it had worked so well for so long. The 2nd unit was also defective. I was sleeping and woke to a toxic smell. I checked the unit (which had shut itself down again) and saw an error code of E063. I shut it down and restarted the unit. After a few hours of operation it happened again. The Troubleshooting guide indicated this as "1) Check if the impeller is stuck. 2) The gap between themagnet (sic) and the wind wheel and the Hall sensor on the controller is too large." I am not a mechanic but still comfortable doing small repairs. The fan is encased in the motor housing. I was able to reach in with a screw driver and the fan spun easily, it was not stuck. After some trial and error I was able to access the motor and found the motor casing is glued shut so I (you) are unable to access the fan. It is un-serviceable without risking cracking the housing. Very disappointed as I had expected an easy fix. I tried it again and the fan seemed to be working well. Just before I sat to update this review it shut down again with a E061 error code. E061 is "Motor open circuit" indicating a loose wire. I checked all wires and tried again this time however, I noticed visible exhaust leaking from inside the unit. I made a complaint to the seller through Amazon and they sent me a 3rd unit. It has the same leak. I have included a video of the problem on 3rd unit. The picture is of the first unit connected to a vehicle air intake manifold which pulls about 10 -20% more heat from the exhaust before it gets outside ( I copied this from a video I found on you tube. It worked like a charm but I have disconnected it before the 2nd and 3rd units to rule it out as a contributing factor. (Original Review) This is a very good product. It has worked flawlessly for the past couple months in 10 - 20 F degree weather. My furnace went down and this was the easier solution. My house is about 1200 sq' 300 or so for an upstairs. it keeps the whole place at about 54 deg. F. I rigged an exhaust heat capture radiator with a small fan and have zero heat waste. If I seal off the upstairs the temp rises to about 60 or 62 deg which is pretty good for 800 sq'. It has worked flawlessly. The app asks for no permissions and does not scrape any information or need any "Registration" at all. That alone deserves 5 Star. After constant use for the past 2 months the unit shut down twice for sensing excess CO2. (Oops, nope, 3 times (it shut down while writing this). Which is excellent because I did not asphyxiate. I do not know why this would happen as I have the exhaust system run outside with all joints sealed with muffler sealant. I would give it 5 star but I do not understand why they put the exhaust pointing out the same side as the hot air. It works for me as you can see in the picture but it seems the natural direction would be out the back.

Its a great unit
I live in upstate NY. I use this heater to heat a small garage place so I can tinker in the winter and not lose my mind. Pretty quiet unit. I can barely hear the pump run. Heat runs hot and constantly. I probably have over 120hrs on it without issue. Great value fast installation. No issues with co2.
