This leather "chain" was exactly as I expected. I got this to carry ID, so it's not holding a lot of weight, and not put under much tension or stress. I ordered 26" length, and this is essentially spot on - maybe an 1/8th inch longer. The clasp works easily, and seems secure enough for my needs - no worries. The "chain" itself seems strong enough for my needs. Overall, it seems to be well made - good quality. I got a black "chain" with a black clasp. It looks great. I like the quality weave of the leather in the "chain". I was concerned that the leather might be stiff and uncomfortable, but it's not. It's great. The "chain" is very soft and supple / flexible, almost more so than paracord. It's very comfortable against my neck. This flexibility also makes it adaptable to a variety of uses / functionality - again, almost like paracord.

I like to wear various charm, pendants, and ID tags when I cycle. Most of them came without a necklace. I've been searching for what seems like an eternity for a plain, no frills, well made necklace with a strong clasp. That's been easier said than done! However, in finding this necklace, I think I've finally found my Holy Grail of necklaces for random charms,pendants, and ID tags. Thoughts: 1. Styling is very plain and unassuming, but not at all cheap looking. 2. The 20 inch length is perfect for me and my desire to have something close to my clavicle area but not as short as a choker. 3. The rope material does not bleed color from my experience and is well made and strong. 4. The clasp is very good. In my photos, that scorpion charm weighs nearly 2 ounces, bounces all over the place during a given ride, but this necklace hasn't come loose once. Overall, for my intended use, this necklace is absolutely perfect. I wanted something durable, with a strong clasp and this absolutely excels in both cases. As a standalone fashion item, it wouldn't be something I'd buy. However, as just a plain, unassuming necklace to use with any manner of charm, pendant, or ID tags, it's wonderful. I think this is a very solid value and I feel very comfortable recommending it! Cheers!

I got the 2mm necklace to hang a pendent on which I currently have on a necklace that is 22 inches long. I looked at the picture of this item and tho't 22 inches would be fine, but it came and was too short. I ended up reordering the 26 inch necklace and probably could have gotten by with the 24. So the picture did not match the results. Other than that it seems to be of good quality, has worn well and works as intended. Again consider you might need to order one size longer?

I had this for a few months now, and sadly, it has met an ignoble end. Now the cord is quite durable, although it is obviously dyed, so washing it is a necessary to get the loose dye out, or you end up with a nice brown line around your neck. It's really hard to tangle this, so you'll have no issue with this, unless you purposely knot it up. The clasp is a rather interesting design, and also quite nice... but ... it doesn't let some smaller men's items from being added to the cord. It's just too big. I tried to put my favorite little charm on it, and the clasp just... wouldn't let it on, and I didn't want to destroy my charm trying to do so. Functionally, it adds to the manliness. +2 to Manliness. Versatility? The cord being as tough as it is, makes it a good use for a tourniquet and other things. Sadly, it's durability ends when the glue attaching the cord to the clasp comes undone, and trying to fix it is just a whole messy affair. So sadly, I had to retire this to my trash bin, and now I need to find a new cord/necklace for my favorite charm.

I ordered this Braided Black Leather Necklace Cord because metal necklaces were causing a rash on my neck. This one does not and I can now wear a pendant on this cord. It is comfortable and easy to open and close. This size (26 inch) is also perfect if I want to just slip it over my head. It is good quality and looks great.
