Excellent alternative to the Apple Pencil
I bought the Metapen Pencil Air8 for my iPad Pro 11" (2022), and it works brilliantly. Pairing was straightforward, and it connected instantly without any issues. The pencil feels comfortable to hold and is very responsive in use. Writing and drawing are smooth and precise, with no noticeable lag, making it ideal for note-taking, sketching, and everyday use. It performs exactly as described and works seamlessly with compatible apps on the iPad. Battery life has been very good so far, and charging is quick and convenient. The build quality is solid, and it feels well-made for the price. For anyone who wants a reliable stylus without paying the premium price of an Apple Pencil, this is a great option. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. It offers excellent value for money, works perfectly with my iPad Pro, and does everything I need it to. Highly recommended.

Good price.
Really surprised at the quality of the Metapen Pencil. I was dubious because of the low price but it does everything I need. Feels good in the hand, holds its power and charges quickly.

A Proper Everyday Stylus for iPad
After years of wrestling with overpriced Apple Pencils, I picked up the Meta Pen Air 8 Pro for my (2025) iPad Air 13-inch M3, and honestly; it’s a breath of fresh air. Instant Setup, Zero Faff Unlike Apple’s pencils, which love to play the “which generation fits your device?” game, this one just… works. Switch it on, write, switch it off. No Bluetooth pairing, no prompts, no fiddly nonsense - it was ready the moment I unpacked it. That’s how it should be. Writing Experience: Blooming Brilliant The standout: the Air-Flex™ fibre tip. It’s whisper-quiet (and I love quiet), with a gentle drag that feels far more like a classic pen or pencil – minus that infuriating tapping noise you get from hard plastic styluses. Even better, it glides smoothly without requiring a screen protector or ‘paper-like’ overlay. Palm rejection works properly, so you can rest your hand on the screen while scribbling notes or sketching. Pixel-perfect precision: Writing small text and drawing fine lines is easy, and there’s no skipping, delay, or jagged edges. Build Quality & Compatibility It’s extremely light at just 10g – much lighter than Apple’s alternative – and feels spot-on in the hand if not a little light, basically indistinguishable from a “real” pencil. The finish is good, and it fits naturally into existing pen loops (I stick one to the portfolio case for when I'm not using the magic keyboard). Compatible with iPad models from 2018 through 2025, including the latest M3 iPad Air (which is what I have now) – even though the Air itself (unlike the Pro) doesn’t have magnets for attachment, that’s on Apple, not the stylus maker. Best Bits - Ridiculously quiet, lovely soft tip - Simple tap-on, tap-off operation - Light as a feather, comfortable for long use - Great value for money - Accurate, reliable, genuinely useful Verdict If you’re sick of Apple’s “just buy a new one” attitude, this is the pencil for you. It simply works, feels fantastic, and won’t empty your wallet. Ideal for students, writers, and anyone who wants their stylus to actually behave like a pen. Apple should take notes (no pun intended). Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Saved myself £70 and got exactly what I wanted.

Great alternative to an official apple pencil
I dropped and broke my official ipencil, not wanting to pay apple prices I got this one instead and haven’t looked back! It looks great and love the reaction from others when they think I’m using a real pencil. Other than needing to charge via USB-C not wirelessly and it not being magnetic, it functions just like the official ipencil. I will say, the nib of this pencil feels better than an official apple one. It feels softer against the iPad when writing, which adds a very small amount of friction when the nib glides across the screen. This in turns makes writing with this pencil feel more natural.

Well worth the money
Works as it should, looks quirky as it really could be mistaken for a pencil. Well made and a great addition to my iPad

Perfect budget digital pencil
Very happy with it. It worked instantly with my iPad A16 and it feels really smooth to me. I like that it has a physical on/off button rather than relying on tap detection that other affordable digital pencils have. Plus it looks great.

A little disappointed
The pen paired with the ipad really well, and seems yo be eorking well, however I have only given the pen 3 out of 5 because one tip has already broken, not had it 5 mins and would expect it last a little longer. This pen did come with extra tips though.

This pencil feels like using using a painting brush, not like a pencil on paper. The soft tip makes it very difficult to feel when it's making contact with the screen or not. It's pretty difficult to write with this and make any sense of the handwriting. I guess for "painting" it's okay. However, the tip wears out very quickly; after the first few minutes, I could already see tip was worn out on one side and didn't look symmetrical. Palm rejection is not great either. On top of that, it is not magnetic (but this is already clear from the product description) I do like the quick start when pressing the button though. ~~Will be returning this~~ and getting something else. What a waste. Update: Seller offered a refund

Ich finde den Stift toll. Das iPad erkennt ihn und als Linkshänder habe ich keinerlei Probleme. Was mich besonders freut, da es der Grund zum Kauf war, die Spitze ist beim Schreiben schön leise. Ideal für Meetings

The Metapen Pencil Air8 is an outstanding stylus for anyone using an iPad from 2018–2025. The 10-minute fast charge is a huge win — plug it in briefly and you’re set for hours of drawing, note-taking, or editing. It’s incredibly convenient for on-the-go use. Performance-wise, it’s fantastic. The palm rejection works flawlessly, allowing me to write naturally without worrying about accidental touches. The pen glides smoothly on the screen with no lag, making sketches, handwriting, and precision work feel accurate and effortless. The build quality is sleek and lightweight, with a comfortable grip that makes longer sessions easy. Pairing is instant, and it stays connected reliably throughout use.
