how quickly do you see improvements? This is day 3 for me and not seeing much improvement yet.

Ich medicine can only kill the ich when it’s free swimming. The ich rotates in a life cycle. When you see the white dots on your fish there is ich feeding on your fish’ skin. The individual parasite leaves the skin eventually falls to the substrate and multiplies. Then all the new parasites release into the water looking for a fish(free swimming stage) and this is the only time they are vulnerable to medicine. This whole life cycle takes multiple days probably a week. So I’m not surprised you don’t see improvement after 3 days. Just making this comment so other people will see this and be informed that ich is a lengthy treatment and it doesn’t matter what medicine you’re using because they’re all only effective when the ich is free swimming.

does this only kill the ich that is on the fish and not the cysts that lie in the gravel

It does not kill Inch on the fish or the cysts in the substrate. It only kills the swimmers that hatch from the cysts. That is why you must go thru the complete cycle.

directions kind of confused me, on the second day after doing 1/3 water change, do I do full initial dosage again? does clarify.

When I replace the 1/3 water I add a full dosage of ich x along with Prime or dechlor product to help fish coat. This works for me.

What are the ingredients duh?

Cured my 20 gal tank of ich, and didnt affect my plants. Took out my nerite snails and treated them with a lighter dose and they are just fine! no deaths and everybody is doing great months later. Did dye the silicone slightly but nothing that noticeable

The dreaded ich! What aquarist hasn't had to fight with this aggravating problem at least once? I am getting back into aquariums after several decades and enjoying every bit of it except one thing: Worrying about what happens if my fish gets sick. I am keeping a very small setup - one 10g with a single betta male in it for now, and I will be adding four julii corys in a few weeks, once everything has settled down and my betta boy feels comfortable and I'm sure the tank is cycled properly. He was kind of a no-notice rescue so I've had to do a fish-in cycle. One of the first things I needed to do was get my at-home pharmacy together. Starting from zero, I quickly learned that aquarium science has grown by leaps and bounds, and to my delight there are so many new and better things available now. I love Hikari and Seachem products, and Ich-X was highly recommended by folks I spoke to when asking for recommendations on what I should have on-hand. The bottle arrived very quickly and in great condition, and now sits amongst its fellows in my fish pharmacy, where I hope it will expire before I ever need it. At which time, I shall replace it with a fresh bottle, because you just never know, and I can't take the anxiety of worrying about what I'll do if my fish get sick. Reasonable cost for a product with a very high reputation for quality and efficacy.
