I was so thrilled to read this book to my granddaughters who had recently seen the Nutcracker ballet. They absolutely loved it!

This is such a cute version of this story. Who doesn't love Little Golden Books?! I wanted to purchase The Nutcracker for my five year old ballerina without breaking the bank. The price of this book could not be beat. It tells the story and is nicely illustrated. Could it have gone into more detail, both in story and illustration? Sure. But I didn't think I needed to pay $15 (or more) to get the "top of the line" when this version does a perfect job at telling the story. It's the perfect length for bedtime to send my girl off to bed with sweet dreams.

The Nutcracker story book paired with a ballerina necklace was the perfect gift for our granddaughter. It has nice illustrations, a timeless story and she loves reading it.

I should not announce or promulgate the name of SHEILAH Beckett so loudly because the prices of her books may go up as a result, but she is one of the best illustrators ever for Children's books. The only drawback may be the fact that there are no brown or black ballerinas or princes reflected in her drawings, but she illustrated in a different era. Great value for the money for this particular book.

This was a gift to a niece a couple of years ago and she enjoyed it.

A delightful introduction to the Nutcracker story. I purchased this book as a Christmas stocking item, and the little ones absolutely loved it, they kept asking to read it to them at least a dozen times.
