I was recently blessed to inherit a (soon to be) beautiful old house that my husband and I are rehabbing. Before this experience I was really casual about life and I did everything as quickly as I could, just to get it over with. Being in this old house with all of its rooms for different aspects of human living really made me realize how shallow my life has been. And that's why I got this beautiful, ornate yet sooooo simple chafing dish. If you find yourself eating in bed, eating standing up, eating fast food, eating science projects that you know the paragraph of trash (dba "ingredients) cobbled together to make it are no good for you or simply feeling unadult, unloved and un-demure, get two of these. Cooking a meal and setting the table to sit down an eat with even just one family member, lover or friend will make you feel so much more alive and connected. This dish is so beautiful that it makes adulting an indulgent pleasure. It is also useful and efficient for keeping your food warm and keeping flying friends away even outdoors. It feels soooooo regal to be served from it and sooooo wealthy to display it. I hosted my first family party ever and everyone was so impressed - no aluminum pans???!!!! When your cousins come over and see this, one of them is bound to ask you if you've recently hit a lick or the numbers or something. I give the chafing dish five stars just for how it looks alone!

I believe this is the first review I submit after all the items I've bought off Amazon. Before I purchased the product, I was a little worried about the quality and durability of the product because of some of the reviews I had read. We used the chafing dishes for Thanksgiving and everyone loved the look! They kept my food warm, no mishaps with holes burning through the first warming bowl, and were super easy to put together. Please make sure you put the water in the water bowl BEFORE you light the Sterno warmer. I wasn't any missing parts, but I'm sure if I was they would have sent them to me immediately. Loved the product!

This round chafing dish has a good look but unfortunately doesn't work as well as others I have. The metal is thinner, and I believe that's leading to a couple of problems: food sticking to the bottom of the pan, lid getting too hot, unattractive heat spots on the bottom. I recommend looking for something made of thicker steel. I will probably use this for cold foods in the future simply because it matches my other chafing dishes on the surface. It also was super annoying to put together with inadequate instructions.

This chafing dish comes in a nice box, which is great if you were looking to use it as a gift. Assembly is very quick and easy just a couple of screws for the lid and handles. I really like the contrasting gold accents, which add to the elegance. The 6 qt size is a good medium size dish, and it does a good job in keeping food warm. I haven't used it's cold food feature yet, however I can see that it would be useful for this purpose. The dish is also very stable, great for a buffet table. I also like that it packs up and stores nicely, as we only use chafing dishes a few time a year.
